  • It used to be better.

I used to enjoy this app quite a bit. Played it all the time. Now it has ads — even though I paid for it — and the gameplay is not as good as in the older 32 bit versions. It is still ok, but the older versions were GREAT euchre platforms — I learned how to play great euchre on the older version I paid for.

  • Very good game!

I’ve played other Euchre games and this one is the closest to playing with friends who actually know how to play. I really enjoy its simplicity and set up, and I appreciate how it deals two cards and then three, like it should be. Also, other games are way more aggressive in ordering up with bad hands, ultimately making the partner carry the play which is not at all realistic. I highly recommend this game to true Euchre aficionados.

  • Good game. Outstanding interface!

I’ve played s lot of games, with a lot of platforms. The game has the absolute best user interface of a FTP game I can recall. First, the engine is good, does not make too many mistakes (sometimes I think it cheats when it leads the only card that stops me from winning 5 tricks), but the design is excellent! The game is smooth, simple, and pleasant, but the star is the way they do ads. One as, always before a new game always a full-screen ad, never more than a five seconds ad, and then … a full, uninterrupted game. Yes, no ads between deals, no obtrusive banners; just a game. I very much appreciate this; it was designed for the player first, then the possible revenue stream.

PS - I remember that episode of New Amsterdam the other reviewer mentioned.

  • Players are too passive

Nobody wants to declare trump unless they hold a sure thing. Player to dealer’s left doesn’t know the odds favor to make trump the “next” suit after dealer passes. Also, dealers partner needs to know that if dealer turns down black, he probably has a red hand, so his partner should call red if at all possible. Partners don’t know how and when to lead trump to partner’s make, which either comforts the player to see the right bower come out of their partner’s, or if partner leads a low trump just to drain the opponents and get the lead to the maker.

Also, can you tell me what the setting of tight to loose for partner play means?

I can see there is a lot of programming logic that has to go into a euchre app. Overall the app is fun and is a great start. Just needs more nuanced play logic. Look up the Ten Commandments of Euchre by Harvey somebody. Make sure your logic covers them.

Final edit: I have deleted it. I can’t stand the abysmal play of my partner. If this was a real game I would be in prison for murder. Although it might be justifiable homicide. I’ve never seen so many right bowers turned down in my whole life. Nor so many misdeals. Good luck.

  • Glad I took a recommendation

I had a Euchre app but I wasn’t happy with it. I kept getting an ad for a different Euchre game so I checked it out. I read one review in particular that planned that app but strongly recommended this one. So I downloaded it. I am really glad I did.

The game sticks to the rules. I can see replays. The AI makes credible bids and plays. All in all a very enjoyable game, even if I lose.

  • No ads!

More and more, developers are feeding ads into the game. I was playing another euchre version which had better game play but finally gave up due to ads (and removing them costs $20!)

Two issues with app: the settings appear as dark grey on black and are almost unreadable. Cards are not sorted by suit until after trump is chosen. Need that to happen immediately on deal.

  • Is okay, game seems to cheat

Often it seems like the game cheats against you, the two “computer” team players are often playing in perfect sync and never grump each other, they play as if they were one.
The “luck” of the shuffle is often heavily stacked against you.
At times you’ll be dealt an amazing hand of maybe 2 bowers and I full hand of cards in all the same suit, and when that happens you will never get the chance to make it that suit, it will never make it to you, I guarantee it.

  • Best Euchre App By Far

Undoubtedly the best in class. The only ads are between games and there are plenty of options.

I have 3 suggestions that would make it even better:

    1) An option to change the level of play of the competition: Easy - Medium - Hard (for example)

    2) Different background colors for the messages that display after each trick and hand. Maybe red for the opposing team and black for your team. Or maybe different colors for each player, with similar colors for each team, like red and maroon for the other team and blue and navy blue for your team. It would make it much easier to figure out the message sender.

    3) An explanation for the different game options. I had to Google most of them to figure out what they were.

  • Good game!

I love euchre and have been playing it for years. This app does a good job at being an alternative to playing with others.
Of course sometimes your partner plays a card that is a waste, since we were already wining the trick, but few errors in play.
The only issue I have is the settings screen gets really messed up with the “dark” setting on my iPhone? I can’t read the text very well and I don’t think there’s a way for me to fix it.

  • Aggravated

Almost every hand I am 4 suited while my opponents, and even my partner are rarely 4 suited. They all get loners, while I maybe get a loner once every 50 hands. They will also receive both Bower’s OFTEN, which i rarely do. The only time my partner seems to make Trump is when I have a great hand in a different suit! It’s very aggravating! It’s not that i want to win every hand. I just want it to be fair and competitive.
