  • Great app!

I've never seen a program that can interpret your handwritten music notation and then play it! Love that you can export and import into Sibelius or Finale. Takes some time getting use to what pen strokes work or not, but after you get use to it, you can sketch pretty quickly. Looking forward to future improvements and refinements.

  • so much potential, exciting!!

This little app makes me very excited for the future of ios notation. Brilliant interface, love it! Excited for future updates! I want this to be the new sibelious.
  • Doesn't even get out of the gate

This app will not even get close to recognizing a hand,or pen written quarter note more than once out of four times, no matter how it is drawn. I tried every possible way, following the startup tutorials and videos and all other ways. Why are there no ledger lines for above and below the standard 5 lines? It would make sense to at least put in dotted lines.

As it is so far, NotateMe is a little less than a cool toy.

  • NotateMe a really great notation tool!

Having used NotateMe over the past month and experienced the improvements, I have to say it is now ready for prime time! I am able to get real work down on my iPhone 5s which I can then send to Sibelius or Finale via MusicXML and finish off. Kudos to the folks at Neuratron for another great app! My #1 tip get a Jot Pro stylus for input.

  • What a great start

Being a musician/composer who also dabbles a little in software development, I have to say creating an app that we all hope will solve the incredibly complex art of notation, takes a serious amount of courage. I have only used NotateMe on my iPhone, but using it so far has been a real hoot. As long as I’m careful, when sketching out an idea, I can usually get it to perform quite well.

I want to applaud the developer’s courage also for pricing NotateMe at a point that is not only fair to him or herself, but also to we users. Hopefully the money coming in will allow him/her to continue this creation to the point of true awesomeness.

I’m not one to award 5 stars to a product unless it is truly perfect, but considering the above statements, and the developer’s willingness to listen to ideas from the users, before long we will have a fantastic tool, not only for sketching little ideas, but in time for actually creating meaningful music for the enjoyment of others.

Thank you for diving into the deepest part of the app pool.

  • Very Promising!

This APP is no where near as productive as a desktop solution like Finale, but demonstrates significant evolution for music notation to begin aligning itself with the "mobile first" generation of computing. Tomorrow's composer on the go will likely want to grab this app as part of their overall tools for productivity. I look forward to watching this app develop!

  • Better than earlier version

Credit to developers for listening to and acting on feedback. This was pretty disastrous at first but the latest version is much improved in both handwriting recognition and inclusion of dynamics.
  • Updates

All of the newest fixes are very helpful. The one piece that would still be very helpful is the recognition of ties over the bar line. As a music educator, this app has been very useful in preparing musical examples for class in conjunction with Apple TV. I even shared this app with a composer friend of mine who works a lot in the jazz world. She was impressed as it allows her to work away from home without a big app like finale or the use of a major device like a laptop.

  • Needs some more basic features

This is an exciting app because it attempts to fill a niche we all want when using touch devices. The problem is that it needs many basic features to make it a practical music tool. For example, you can't even draw a simple measure bar. What about being able to notate text such as simple chords? Makes this kind of useless for jazz charts.

Would appreciate a forum or suggestion list like many developers use when distributing a public beta. Looking forward to future updates but at this point, Notateme is not practical for regular use. Presently, this is just a sketch pad for ideas. There are more professional scoring programs available for iOS.

  • Great potential

I'm still working out some issues with getting used to what the program will and won't recognize so that wastes a bit of time, but I think that this has great potential. I'd really like to see the ability to import as well as export XML files so that I can use Finale or Sibelius when I have access to my desktop and still be able to very it 6 Stars!work on files using this when I am away from home. Once we have that, I'll g
