  • ALMOST perfect, almost complete

Bandcamp has everything. No matter how obtuse your tastes are obscure, you’ll find something to love on the Bandcamp platform.
The app streamlines the website perfectly, plus it adds the features of downloading your purchases and creating playlists.
The reason why I say this app is ALMOST perfect is that it lacks an Apple Watch version and nothing yet for the iPad. I listen to music at work, being able to access Bandcamp on my watch just like I can with the other streaming services would complete this.
Please Bandcamp, make an accompaniment for the watch!

  • Bandcamp is the bomb but could be better…

As an indie artist myself, I got sick of paying a monthly fee that I knew wouldn’t go to support my favorite musicians. I also missed the days of collecting and getting to know albums intimately. It took a few months but I’m finally using it as my primary music app. I feel so proud and full of integrity to be playing music I sponsored, for all to see in my library. I do wish bandcamp had a subscription model like audible where I pay a monthly fee and get an album credit or something. It’s hard to stay on top of a budget with it, and the iPhone interface doesn’t let you big albums in app. This could be a great workaround and increase the bottom line of artists and bandcamp and make it easier for listeners.

  • Best thing ever

If you love music, get this app. There is an ocean of music to listen to. The Bandcamp weekly, including the metal show and the hip hop show, are the greatest shows ever. They are the most diverse collections of music, no matter what the genre you will find something new that is great. I’ve started listening to the log of the Weekly, beginning back in 2013. I can’t believe I’ve missed out on some much great stuff. I started listening in 2018 I think. I’m a huge music lover. This app also re kindled my love of vinyl, I can buy a release directly from the artist. I can’t express, in this review, how much Bandcamp means to me, I look forward to listening to new shows every week. So much great content, thousands upon thousands of hours of listening. Get it get it get it. You are guaranteed to find lots of music you will love! Thanks you Andrew Jervis, Stoney Creation and Brad Sanders! And anyone who contributes to this wonderful platform!

  • Okay

Can you please fix the streaming limit on tracks you haven’t purchased already? You’re automatically locked out of tracks you’ve played over three times if they’re not in your collection, even if the artist allows infinite streaming on their page - not only is this really annoying, but it also leads to situations where songs are legitimately impossible to play via the app if they can’t be added to a collection, such is the case for free downloads and other unpurchasable albums. Free downloads are completely broken on here too, since the app will not show albums that aren’t either paid or name your price in search results or on artist pages, making them extremely annoying and time-consuming to find. There have been some really solid additions to the app like playlists and offline streaming which I appreciate, but the app still has serious quality-of-life issues that need to be addressed.

  • Incredible service, shame about the spam.

Bandcamp is hands down the best way to discover new music and buy DRM free music. Unfortunately despite the fact I have turned off all notifications and un-ticked every spam box and clicked on the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of the spam emails innumerable times, I’m still being spammed - received one this morning all like “hey, I bet you’re really interested in our merch store!”. No, I’m not, sod off.. yet again. Stop spamming me and I will happily give this 5*. And before someone helpfully replies with “hey, did you know you can change this in your settings ;D” yes, I turned them all off years ago but I’m still being spammed.

  • feels very limiting

theres so many fewer options for things to do on the app and the few options you have feel so unintuitive. like, why isnt there a dedicated profile icon? why do I have to find that in collections? why are half my profile settings gone? why cant I share an artists link? I just keep needing to go back to the website for everything, its very annoying

  • No casting/output anymore

There’s no option anymore to use chrome cast or connect to a speaker. The button is gone. Network settings are correct and casting works on every other app. I only downloaded this app so I could play what I purchased on my home speaker when I go to sleep. The cast function was there one day and gone the next. I’ve been checking here and Reddit every day for updates on this getting fixed. Extremely irritated that my only way to access my music is to download the files on my computer and then upload them into the cloud so I can stream them through another music app. What the point of having an app if we can only listen through the phone device itself?

  • Great service for music but terrible app

I love how Bandcamp has become the home of folk music artists and what they do to support artists in general. However the app has evolved at a glacial pace. I made a suggestion years ago that we should be able to reorganise the artists we follow so we can actually find them if you follow more than about 20. Still not possible. Also the bow playing screen is fine as long as the song/tune has only about 20!characters and after that you have no idea what is playing (eg just bought and listening to McGoldrick Family album with outs of sets of instrumentals but only first tune of each set visible). Please get this app up to speed!! Lots of other gaps between this app and other streaming apps. This is going to sound cheeky, but this is lazy app development - push out what you think is good enough and then just sit back.
