Is this app still supported?

The app mostly works. The data it shows is accurate. Everything else about the app is kind of junk. Every day or two it simply won’t refresh data and I have to kill and restart it. Moving back to yesterday will only show partial data until I pull to refresh on today. Zooming on the array view picks some arbitrary point nowhere near where I pinch so I have to pan around to see what I zoomed in on. Array view shows a higher precision of production than the energy view. I could go on, but the basic point is that the app feels like someone decided it was “finished” when many details are still not right. Last I checked, it hadn’t been updated in many months so I guess, yeah… “finished”. Too bad Enphase has made it maddeningly difficult to get my own data out of the system I own or I bet there would be many more, much better options from independent developers.

Response from developer

We certainly do not want you to have this kind of experience with our app, and we truly appreciate your detailed feedback. We have forwarded the feedback to our development team. Regarding the higher precision of production in the array view, microinverter data and meter data will have a variance of up to 5%. Please reach out to us at mobile-apps-support@enphaseenergy.com along with your site details and case no: 17239815 created for you so we can get you in touch with the development team and fix the issues.

Devastating Experience

Representative was not well trained to be knowledgeable enough to cover all of what was included in our decision. He neglected to include the information as to have back up batteries for incase of black out. We never got the batteries.
Installers for the electrical boxes had no idea what he was doing for one and for two was sloppy slow and very unprofessional. Took whole six months just to get inspection’s. And even then they had to return about four times because inspectors couldn’t pass the work for city safety. Talk about a total disappointment. Bank loaner was ready to with draw the money when the job was not completed. We had to place a stop.
Had a change of director of their department. Which meant had to start from square one to explain in the whole process to him. Jacob Walsh is or perhaps was his name. If he still is working for you all???

Free power hours

App is good but it would be helpful to be able to include when your power is free in the currency equivalent settings. It only allows for peak and off peak rates to be entered. We have peak, off peak and free hours.

Needs improvements

Have two envoys and for some reason battery charge data just doesn’t populate consistently. Also sometimes I get import/export data of the same value which is not real data and then corrects itself later. Three months after my batteries and the new envoy were installed it still isn’t working. Adding now (1 month later), the issues are getting worse. Today most data has just disappeared or is ridiculously wrong I.e. 1.6MWh import etc. the battery charge% data in the energy tab is still mostly unavailable or only with one day delay. One solar panel shows just as black in Array but status is normal and the LEDs in the controller are saying that there’s no comms or power produced by one or more inverters ???? You need to get your act together and fix these issues considering the cost of your systems.

Response from developer

We’re very sorry to hear about the ongoing issues you’re experiencing with your gateway and battery data. This is certainly not the level of performance we aim for, and we understand how frustrating this must be. Please reach out to our support team at mobile-apps-support@enphaseenergy.com with these specific concerns, and we’ll work diligently to resolve them on priority. Your feedback is crucial for us to improve our systems, and we appreciate your patience!

Energy Independence

I’m disappointed with this app. The energy independence rating is very incorrect. It only calculates the energy produced by the solar panels against the imported energy from your electric company. This is not the complete story! If you have a battery that is set to be charged only by the sun ( which is a setting that is not the default setting) it does not include that energy. And it also does not include the exported energy to the electric company that you get back for free from them. For my situation this is about a 25% miscalculation of the actual energy independence. As technical as this company seems to be, this is a gross over site to there customers. I can only hope it is not on purpose to sell more solar panels to the misinformed customers. I was also not happy with the default profile that wasn’t set to self contained which uses the least amount of energy from the grid. These were poorly explained after the installation and left up to me a 72 year old to discover on my own. The product itself is top notch but everything else is subpar.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the app information. Energy independence is briefly explained in the link: https://support.enphase.com/s/article/What-does-my-Energy-Independence-score-mean . To identify the best battery profile for your site, you can refer: https://support.enphase.com/s/article/which-system-profile-should-i-choose-for-my-enphase-energy-system . Best tool for knowing electricity production and consumption

Enables me to maximise the energy produced by my solar panels instead of selling it extortionately cheap to EDF

Features urgently needed in UK

This app is awful for UK users. Comeon Enphase, give me the features I need, that you already provide to US customers? 1. No profile options other than 1 default. I need more intelligent profiles to suit changes in habits and weather. 2. Not able to turn off battery when I charge my car at night. It drains battery down to 6% exhaustion, automatically shutting it down, so I have no battery in the morning and it will reduce the longevity of my battery. I only want to charge an EV car from grid at night and not use up battery cycles, which will never be enough anyway. 3. Not able to set percentage discharge and max charge levels to prolong battery health. Running battery all the way down to 6% is not good for battery health. I need to be able to set a higher discharge depth. 4. Ability to remotely turn battery off and set off schedule. You provide these features to the US market, they're promoted on your website. Very disingenuous to not make it clearer the poor offering you give to your UK customers.

Thanks for your feedback about this! We understand it might be frustrating. The team has already noted your feature request and will consider it for future app updates. We value your input, so feel free to share more ideas at mobile-apps-support@enphaseenergy.com.

Extra ordinaire,merci!

Je me sens en contacte directe avec ma consommation électrique comme jamais auparavant. Ce qui me permet d’éviter ma surconsommation.

Solar Review

I’ve only been connected to the grid for four months with my 21 panels producing pretty much what was projected of 750 KWh per month. The Enphase App is an excellent way to see the KWh being produced, consumed and exported back to the grid on a daily, weekly, monthly basis, plus customising desired periods. Two items in my opinion are missing: 1. An app for the ability to see KWh used from the Duke power meter without having to view the electric meter; and 2. The same info for KWh sent to Duke power without physically looking at the Duke electric meter. In speaking with Duke Customer Service, they have that ability. Why doesn’t Enphase come up with an app that permits the same ability for the customer. Bottom line, I enjoy the Enphase App. Alton Jacobs

Response from developer

I appreciate your input and the careful suggestions you shared. You can check the export to the grid and import from the grid if the consumption meters are installed on your site. Please contact your installer for the same. If you have any other recommendations, please email me at mobile-apps-support@enphaseenergy.com.

Very poor design, worse support

The interface is either not fully implemented or simply poorly designed. As an example: there are navigation arrows on either side of Production kWh but they don’t do anything. The production number is highlighted blue, normally indicating an actionable area, yet clicking it yields nothing. I entered a kWh per unit cost but could not change it (or couldn’t figure out how to do so after looking through all the settings) once I realized I’d entered an incorrect number. Customer service was zero help. The service assistant sent a link that wouldn’t open then sat idle for several minutes after I mentioned that the link was bad and asked that the pertinent information be copied and sent to me. Giving up on that I looked up “enlighten change kWh rate” where I was directed to their site. The first step in the process, follow a pull down arrow, was impossible as there is no such arrow in the app. The whole app is state of the art circa 2001, the company needs to bound wildly into at least 2010 app functionality, ideally 2024 but given how poor the design is they don’t know how or do not care about how their app fails.
