  • Great

Been using this for about 6 months now and I have found it to be the only step app that counts my steps when pushing my Pram.

  • Stepwise app

Great for keeping daily exercise on track - the big brown dog and I wouldn't be without it but I'm not as fit as him (yet)!

    Developer Response

Thanks for taking the time to leave your nice review. Keep up the exercise (and the dog walking).
  • Great Tracker

Just recently started using this to track my steps to make sure I get them all in. I really like the fact that it takes care of miles, steps, and other things so I know where I’m at.
  • Tom

Brilliant! Since I put it on my phone and watch I have lost over 21 lbs, it gently stimulates me to hit my target every day and keep the graph in the green. Thank you !

  • Great App & great developer

I don’t normally write reviews however this app & developer are a credit to the App Store. The App does what it says on the tin. Helps me get my daily steps in & goes a long way of being part of my daily exercise/health regime. Recently had a slight problem with the Siri Card support. This suddenly stopped showing & Neil the developer helped enormously , listening & emailing back with information. Turned out to be Apple’s problem not the Apps & all resolved with the latest update. If you need a step counter to help with your daily goal , then you’d be daft to look elsewhere.

  • Partly happy

I am partly happy with this app. The only issue is the floor part. It seems to not read all the stairs and it reads the elevator.

    Developer Response

Thanks for using Stepwise and for leaving your review. On the subject of floor counting, this is entirely dependent on data from Apple on your device. It may be that your phone needs a forced restart, or that your iOS version needs updating etc. Certainly I haven't seen it register elevators. The main part is that it sees the levelling out between floors when walking, and as long as this is within a tolerance ~2.8 - ~3.2 meters, then a floor will register. However, if you were going up a tall building with a constant stairwell, it would register around every 3 meters. It is the way Apple do this. Please do reach out to me via the contact option on the Me screen, or, if you are unable to, then via support@stepwiseapp.com and mention this review, and I will be happy to work through this and help you. Thanks, Neil.
  • Entering information was so long winded

I thought this would be a great app but it takes a while to set yourself up for example your weight and height. I literally had to sit there and keep hitting the up or down button so many times I got bored. Then I accidentally looked at a text that came in and because I hadn’t saved it, the setup process took me back to the beginning. After that I deleted the app, and found one that doesn’t take that long to set up.

Thanks for leaving a review Kerry. Stepwise doesn’t have a setup process as such; that is to say you can use the app as soon as you have given it access to your step data by tapping to accept on the prompt that appears. If you tap on the me screen, you can update your height and weight in order to get more accurate calorie burn information and BMI. Simply pressing and holding on the plus or minus button against each setting will run through the numbers quickly, just as with any iPhone or iPad app using these controls. As for saving data, as soon as you leave the Me screen the data will be saved. As I say, there is no setup process though, and I wonder if you are talking about a prompt for different access related to HealthKit appearing, which, after updating height or weight would prompt in order to save your BMI data. This prompt, and the notification prompt, do not appear as soon as you use the app so that you can get in and actually use the app quickly. If you would like to try the app again please do, and feel free to reach out to me via the contact option a little further down the Me screen. Thanks, Neil.
  • Handy app. Great customer support.

I have a ton of apps, but only a handful I use regularly. Stepwise is one of them. It’s a great way to track my activity, etc. Just what you’d expect from a pedometer app. But when I had a problem, I was really impressed but the customer support. Friendly, helpful and truly concerned. When I didn’t reply to the last email from my tech support person (I’d been traveling), he emailed me to make sure everything was ok and to see if he could provide any more help. Gotta love that kind of follow up. Kudos Neil.
