  • Scam

    Their faulty equipment caused a false positive and they banned me from giving blood even though I’ve been properly tested by my doctor who tested me three times and the results were all negative. Unbelievable!

    Hello, every donation is tested for certain blood borne infections to maintain the safety of Canada’s blood supply. These tests are extremely good at detecting the presence of infections, called “true positives”. Sometimes these tests detect an infection even when it is not present, called “false positive”. When we have a donation where our first set of tests detect an infection, we do additional testing to confirm these results. This helps us determine whether the tests were a true or a false positive. Previously, anyone who tested positive, even if it was a false positive, was not eligible to donate. Recently, Health Canada approved a re-entry program for some false positive results to allow otherwise eligible donors to be re-tested after a six (6) month waiting period for certain infectious markers. If you have received a false positive result in the past and would like to set up an appointment to be re-tested, please call 1 888 2 DONATE (1 888 236-6283) to speak with one of our trained health professionals. -CT

  • Foreign zip code

    To bad I can’t create an account because my zip code style is different from Canada. That mean I can’t donate stem cell or blood for Canada. I thought foreign countries could donate? I’m from Hawaii so this is upsetting.
  • Easy to rebook

    Today on November 4th, I got a phone message that my appointment got cancelled for today. So I got on the web sight and rescheduled for tomorrow and it took me literally 2 minutes. Honoured to donate! See you tomorrow!

    - quiz QR code every time we take it, you should be able to add it to Apple wallet

  • Unable to donate due to overcrowding

    I wasn’t able to give on my last appointment. I arrived to the building full of people. I’ve never seen it that crazy. I don’t mind waiting a while but that day would have taken hours of waiting. My schedule doesn’t allow me that kind of time. There needs to be better scheduling when adding new first timers. The staff are very good at what they do. Hats off to them to have to deal with what seemed to be organized chaos!! Apparently quite a few donors with scheduled appts. left to return later.
