  • Terrible Terrible Customer Service

Absurdly expensive. You will have no control when they want to raise the price, look elsewhere. Log10 Pro used to be $100 good for a lifetime. A few days before the subscription change where they charge an outrageous amount each year, I added the Log10 Pro subscription to my cart and went through to complete the order. A couple days later I realized the order did not go through correctly. They changed the subscription from $100/lifetime to a much higher $100/per year cost. They would not even in kindness be willing to grandfather me through on the old plan price. Now I find out that with Atlas Air and many other airlines, it is impossible to import my schedule, many flights at a time into my Log10 Pro logbook. So, I might as well have just done it the old way or found a much cheaper option, or just Excel spreadsheet or something. These people will happily take your money, and provide very little assistance. I still have never been able to talk to any sort of support over the phone. Plus, there is no guarantee they won't blast the price up even higher in the future. There are much cheaper options that are just as good.

Hi Chrisjohnjarvisridiculous - I'm sorry to hear your disappointment with our pricing. Just to clarify, historically (almost 4 years ago now), LogTen Pro worked on a 'paid upgrade' model. So each new major version required payment. We didn't have a lifetime version for iOS. And when we launched the subscription model, we set the pricing for long time customers much below the average annual cost when we had paid upgrades. The subscription covers multiple engineers and support staff who work hard to ensure pilots get the best professional logbook possible. On the schedule import front, our partnership with Roster Buster ensures pilots can import logbooks from over 450 airlines (including Atlas Air you might be happy to know!). You are correct that our support team does most interactions with customers via our help site (help.coradine.com). We've found that this enables us to support more pilots than a phone based help service. Having said that, we will happily arrange a conversation by phone if it is necessary. Please don't hesitate to contact us at help.coradine.com - we would welcome the opportunity to convince you that LogTen Pro is well worth the few dollars a month it costs. All the best, Team Coradine
  • Great!!! But...

I have been using LogTen since 2013 and have absolutely loved it. I used it for about a year before it turned to a subscription based product which I was upset because I had to re-buy the app since the old version was not being updated AND pay however much it was to have it for a year. I contacted them and asked if there was anything they can do to help me out since I recently bought the old app then came out with ‘X’. They were able to throw in a year for free which I thought was very nice of them. Afterwards I bought the 3 year subscription so I wouldn’t have to worry about it for a while. That’s when I thought it was worth it. Now with the prices going up every year, I’m slowly starting to dislike it. It really is an amazing app, with awesome customizations and a lot of different ways to import and export schedules. It really has made tracking time A LOT easier. I just wish their payment system can go down a bit. I would hate to get another app in the future.

Hi Rgarro Thank you for your review. It's great to hear that you are happy with LogTen Pro and it's customization features. I do appreciate your comments regarding the subscription pricing. While the shift over to the subscription model almost 4 years ago now was painful for some, we've tried hard to keep the prices reasonable. The annual subscription covers multiple full time engineers and support staff who work hard to ensure LogTen Pro is the best professional logbook on the market. Please don't hesitate to contact our support team to make sure you are receiving the best deal possible on the annual plan - help.coradine.com. All the best, Team Coradine
  • Not worth the cost

I tried a few different digital log books and used them side by side for the last 2 months. LogTen, whole having lots of hype and good comments proved to be rather clunky and at times frustrating. I fly different aircraft and one point of frustration comes from LogTen entering an old Hobbs time that had to be cleared each time an entry is made, including separate legs of the same trip. Tracking and entering approaches flown is also poorly designed. Why do I need to tell you the type and runway of an approach when I’ve told you where it was flown?, why isn’t there a drop down provided? Every trip requires a new identifier to be searched and added, and tomorrow you’ll be doing the same thing, for destinations you frequent.
Then the best part, after 250 hours, I need to pay either 80 or 130 if I want it on my computer too?
There’s other programs much more intuitive and faster that provide the same reports without the time consuming effort it takes to enter time.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, it's always greatly appreciated! FYI the current hobbs value comes from the aircraft, and uses whatever the last value was. If you inadvertently entered a wrong value, this can be changed on the aircraft. Regarding approaches: approach types, and even runways, change over time. Since LogTen Pro is used to log your entire history of flying, and often pilots are entering old flights, it's not practical to only show a drop down with the current runways and approaches for a particular airport. I'm not sure what you're referring to with "every trip requires a new identifier to be searched and added"... places you've been are shown in the list when you select an airport, we show recently used ones at the top, and you can also mark favorites. We're at your service!
  • Great logbook. Can be cumbersome, but worth the hassle!

Udate: Developer responded with instructions. Apparently, the features I asked for are already there! Five stars :)

Great logbook overall, however, the iPad version needs to include the ability to log more than two approaches in one flight. The basic instrument qualification requires three approaches in a single flight. How am I supposed to log that? Also, how can I annotate my route of flight in the ipad version? I don't see any way of doing that. Fix these two shortfalls and I'll update to 5 stars.

Note: This app kept crashing for some unknown reason. I tried uninstalling/re-installing to no avail. In the end, I had to completely reformat my ipad (pro 9.7"). Sort of a pain, but I restored from my icloud backup and it seems to be working now.

Good news, you can log up to ten different types of approaches on any flight, and as many of each type as you like. When viewing a flight tap the three dots (action menu) at the top right, and select "Configure Fields". Now you will see a "Configure Section" option appear under each section of fields in the flight where you can add and remove dozens of fields including your own custom ones. This is also how you would show the Route field if you like to record your route or additional airports you landed at on one flight.
  • App and support fails

My problem is not with the pricing...I’ll save that review for another day.

The app periodically fails to work when it doesn’t recognize longstanding login credentials whether they are thumbprint or username/password. Previously, it would spontaneously work for a few weeks, then quit, again. Having changed neither my password nor my thumbprint, one day...Boom! no longer able to log anything. By the way, when the email password rest button fails to send an email reset link...email tech support, right? Well, only if you are anxious to receive ineffective advice like “check your spam folder for the email”. Really?? That’s all the support I get? It’s been a whole 24 hours since I have heard from them and their “amazing” support team. Why can’t we just have a phone number
to resolve the issue in a reasonable timeframe? I don’t sit behind a desk waiting for the support team’s email to arrive-I am using this app as a tool because I am busy with other things...like
    flying.
Still no help with the login issues, and no way to continue using this subscription based app....

By the way, it never seems to work without an internet connection, so if you are airborne, better hope someone paid 6 figures for in flight wi-fi if you want to log flight data....

  • Support is awesome!! Instructions were bad

Okay so at first I was ready to throw in the towel and move on because the instructions on how to run things were god awful. Then I contacted Nicho in their support department who took care of me, all my demands and demonstrated a patience I have never seen before in any business.
They imported thousands of hours of flight info and THEN when something didn’t take, Nicho FIXED it all line by line!!!
THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of flights worth of items!! HOLY CR/P!!
I am still learning the system but with this support level, it’s hands down the VERY BEST AVAILABLE!!
Truly shocked by how great Nicho was and still is to me!!
This app has incredible functionality and usefulness!!
I have never seen a company with this level of support. I know there are people posting about updates and new rates that take them by surprise but while that certainly isn’t good, I’d be willing to bet the folks at Coradine will change the way they do the updates so that it matches the high level of support they provide.
Far superior to anything else available and I mean by a huge margin.
A instructional video that goes from the very beginning and assumes total novice would be great. I think it would make the learning curve for guys like me a lot less intense.
    Thanks!!

Hi Sosee - I'm sorry to hear your disappointment with the difficulty in setting up LogTen Pro. I tried to find your email on our support site but there is noting under "Sosee", I'm very sorry that your experience getting support wasn't better. Creating a profile should be a simple process, open LogTen Pro on your iOS device, tap "More" on the bottom right, then on "Settings", then on "Account" - then tap "Sign Up" and fill in the details to set up your account. I'm also hoping I can clarify that almost all features available on the Mac are also available on iPhone/iPad, the in-built roster import is one of feature not available on iOS, but is available on iPhone/iPad through our partner third-party apps. Importing existing data from a CSV file or another electronic logbook is not in-built on iOS but our support team would be very happy to do this for you! In any case, I would really appreciate the chance to help you get set up with LogTen and hear your views. Please contact us at help.coradine.com! Thanks, Team Coradine
  • Don’t trust them

I also have been a customer for years. I put off updating my ipad until I finished all my taxes because I was informed of this crappy deal. I paid a lot of money for this program years ago and I also paid for the program on the Mac. Now I can’t access any of my flight records unless I pay them for monthly service. Whats next? I think its criminal myself. Most companies grandfather in the earlier people since they will continue to get new customers and the older group retire and have to quit using it. Loyalty goes both ways. I suggest you find a different app. These people will find out they are not happy with how much they’re making and come back at you again for more. Greed is a nasty thing. I paid for the app for my old flight records, I ought to be able to see them for my records!!!!

  • Terrible value with the absurd subscription model

I used to recommend Logten pro as the expensive but ideal electronic logbook for the professional pilot. With the old version you could a hefty price once to use the software. It was fine because the old logten pro had great features and didn’t really need to be updated for the average pilot. However now they have moved to an extremely expensive annual subscription model that’s just not worth it. On top of it they refuse to update the old version that no longer works in IOS11 so I am no longer able to access my log book unless I want to pay their $100 subscription to get the latest version. Skip this app and go with a competitor. These guys will just keep raising the price and blame it on the new features they are developing that you don’t care about.

  • Extremely disappointed

As many others have stated on here, I have been a longtime user of the original LogTen Pro app. I was a huge supporter, early adopter, and one of their biggest salesmen. There’s no telling how many pilots I’ve shown the app to and convinced them it was worth the price, rationalizing that even though it was MUCH higher than other apps, it was a one-time purchase.

Now, they’ve failed to meet that promise and my data is held hostage. Corradine, please don’t respond that this is Apple’s fault. It takes mere seconds to convert apps from 32-bit to 64-bit so they continue to work. Failing to do this breaks the promise you made to me and ensures that there’s no way I would consider spending even a reasonable $4-5/month with you, much less the exorbitant $129/year!

No thanks. I’ll extract my data and move on to someone that keeps their business promises...

  • Was hoping for more functionality

This is the third time I’ve been pushed into having to update my LogTen Pro. I had the original and then an IOS update came out and it wasn’t compatible. Fast forward a few years and once again same thing. At least then it was a one time purchase. Now thanks to the overlords at apple and IOS 11 I am force to do the annual subscription. Ok. What surprised me is that there is almost no functionality improvements over previous versions. One would think that after so many years IOS would finally be able to import airline schedules from FLICA or what system you use, but it still only available from the MAC. For what it is the program is decent and it does enable quick reference for filing out an 8710 and watching your flight limits. However both were available on my previous non IOS 11.0 version. Over a thirty year career this program will wind up costing a pilot several thousands of dollars. I may just print out my logbook at year end and go back to the old way. Just my two cents. -Michael

    Developer Response

Hey Michael, Sorry for any confusion, one of the many advantages of switching to the subscription model is that you will get all updates, so you won't find yourself in a situation where an old version of LogTen Pro is not compatible with a new operating system! There are literally thousands of hours of engineering and hundreds of improvements and new features in the current versions LogTen Pro as compared to version 6. To name a few: we integrate with RosterBuster to support airline schedule importing on iOS, the completely new Radar tab with Plan and Analyze views that give you the industry first Time Loupe which allows you to easily scroll backwards and forwards in time to see duty and rest limits as well as currencies past, present and future, we now support tracking rest for better management of FAR117 regs, Analyze gives you instant access to most common totals, and times by aircraft type, the new Fly Now tab makes creating flights faster than ever with GPS to automatically identify airports, support for iCloud Drive to enable seamless sync across all your devices, iCloud Backup on iOS, the ability to share items with other pilots (one pilot can log the flight and then just share it with the other, or share a smart group they built, aircraft or crew entries, send a flight to an instructor to be signed, etc.), many new reports, and major improvements throughout there apps to improve usability and make logging and accessing your data easier than ever. We're at your service if you have any questions!
