This app gives us a verse to contemplate before beginning our session. I like that! In addition, it makes us focus us on our sacred word before beginning contemplation. Many meditation apps just start with an opening gong and end with the same. This app provides more direction and structure.Louwho51
Please add two things
I enjoy this app very much. Two easy things would make it even better. A counter for number of days in a row one has completed a prayer sit. And second, total number of minutes prayed. A third could be total number of prayer sits, which could be a different number than number of days in a row. Some of us like to be reminded of such things.Show lessFrJRA
Love this App!
I love this app, I discovered it before I knew anything about Centering Prayer and it led me to find out more. It is really easy to use and so versatile that you can adapt it to suit you. The opening and closing prayers done either side of the time of silent contemplation and ‘consenting to God’s presence and action within’ are full of wisdom, grace and a deep appreciation for the character and mystery of God. This has become a regular part of my devotional time, and I sense that I take the peace and a deeper connection to God with me into my day as a result. One thing I would say, is that you should start with just a few minutes and once it becomes part of your practice you can build up from there. If you start with trying to do 20-30mins or more, twice a day, that is quite a task in a busy life! I believe that God can work in any amount of time, let God guide you in how and when to extend your prayer time if needed. Better to be faithful with a more manageable time in order to create a regular practice of connection and contemplation. Hope this app blesses you as it has done me. When I started CP 1 1/2 years ago I had a had time figuring out the app. (I was also a pretty new Christian at the time). I tried it out recently at the suggestion of a friend. Wow! It really flows & I now find it very easy to use. I think I just needed a little experience first. I just love the app. One suggestion I have that I would like is for you to add a feature that stores the time up each day & a journal feature for notes or thoughts.Show lessJodeepodee

I like this app but it has a few flaws
It’s helping me a lot with centering prayer, but I have two complaints.
1. It turns off when my iPhone auto-locks, so I have to change my normal auto lock of 30 second to “never” when I use the app.
2. I have to turn off notifications when using so I don’t get interruptions.

Perfect in every way
This app is the perfect companion for beginning or continuing the journey of centering prayer. The creators don’t charge anything, and yet it has everything you need to begin, including a digital form of the pamphlet available on their website, which gives you the basics of centering prayer.
Using the app takes you through a process beginning with an opening prayer, followed by the centering prayer period itself, which you can adjust to a duration you’re comfortable with. You can also select the Bell sounds you prefer to open and close your prayer. After the prayer you’re encouraged to meditate on a closing text. The opening prayer and closing thought can be selected from a number of options available within the app itself.
In short, I cannot imagine a better app for free that provides the guidance and support this one does, and does so elegantly. The app was clearly designed by people who have no other motive than to introduce the practice of centering prayer to the widest range of people they can.Show lessgiuzeppe
Centering made easy
As a practice of my spiritual journey I find this app easy to use as I begin my day with silent meditation. The options to open with prayer then being lead to prayer with a chime make it easy to focus on the task at hand-listening for the whisper of the Divine. The ability to set the length of quiet meditation and be brought back to reality with a chime takes the “worry” away from waiting for the end of meditation allow one to focus on deepening awareness of the One within.Show lessangeldeb
