Taking Time
Centering prayer is a special time in the day to just be! It is easy for me as I can focus on the greenery and clouds and outdoor songs which Takes me to the love of God and his gifts. I’ve been using this app for a number of years and I love the way it is designed. The user can choose various quotes or Scriptures to begin and end the centering prayer time, as well as gentle sounds. Wonderful Way To Start The Day
Well thought out app, especially for a beginner. 20 minutes is ideal but you can set up the app for 10 minutes or even 5 minutes. I can imagine a harried mother with interrupting toddlers only being able to manage 5 minutes for herself. This app allows for all kinds of busy lives.Pmcpatty
I used to love this app, but…
But, then I got a new device and the sounds only play for one time, when I delete the app and then download it again. It works once and then I have to go through the same process every time. It just takes the joy and ease out of using it for my practice.Sleeping Upright

This is a great app for folks who need some simple structures for prayer and time to listen to God and center your day upon him. I think a useful tool I would like to see added is a custom prayer option as an invitation to create and use your own words to start and end the prayer time and save them in the app rather than having to use a companion software or journal. I think there is a lot of value in using the words of saints that have walked the journey of faith before us. And there are great varieties of prayers in this app to match the season your soul is in. All that said, I think adding a place for custom prayers to be recorded would add to the app and the user experience.Show lessthisyoungman
Centring Prayer app
I have used this app for several years and have found it to be extremely helpful. There is the possibility of choosing an opening and ending writing, be it scripture, psalms, words from Father Keating or from others. As well you can choose an opening and ending sound, eg. chimes or the sound of rainwater. In both cases you can select nothing. Finally you can choose the length of time of your sitting which frees you from worrying about whether or not you are finished. Oh yes, you can also choose a background. I’ve been practicing centering prayer for almost two years. I got this app a few months ago. It has helped me maintain two sessions a day as well as increased by daily awareness of the Holy Spirit at work in my life.
