This is one of my longest running games I’ve played and am still largely active on. I would rate this a 5-star even with the seemingly low summon rates because they do have convenient events for getting good mons but I still put it as a 4 star because of the longest running problem that affects the game in the worst way. That problem is the violent runes. If you play it you will quickly come to realize they are your best friend and your pest enemy all at once. The rate at which they will screw you over will astound you. Imagine a fight starts and you are by far outclassing the other team. Two of your monsters go first and you have killed one monster easily and almost killed another. There’s only a total of three in this fight so you’re almost at a win. Now on their first turn they get three attacks in a row and suddenly you have one monster left and all because of a random chance that is supposed to be pretty rare but seems to happen quite often. Violent runes are one of the most frustrating things in this game because they really should have a cap of one activation during a turn cycle but instead they have multiple chances and having a skill based combat system that is thrown into chaos by random chance is not a good way to compare skill level of players accurately. Please god cap this and I’ll change my review to a 5 in a heartbeat but until then I will never rate this above a 4 and I even hesitantly considered giving it a 3 over this.Show lessTanteiKun

If I could give them zero stars I would. I have played this game and loved it for more that 10 years. I took a break as I was spending a lot of money on the game. I recently tried to log back in with the account email and the correct password but they asked for second
Authentication, which is good but I no longer have access to the account as it’s an old work account. I have spent more than three weeks and multiple emails to their support, they requested a further 10 supporting pieces of evidence which I was able to provide. Since then, 3 weeks ago they have simply ignored me. I have spent a lot of money on this account, I have the account email and the correct password, I have sent them proof of transactions, account specific information and all the evidence they need to help. I am on the fith chaser email for help and they just ignore me. Thieves…be careful of you place this game. You can lose your whole account to their poor customer service.Show lessVendigan
Old player returning: It’s so much better.
Before anything else, if you’ve not played in a long time (say, from around or before the Assassin’s creed event), then the Quality of Life changes are insane since then. Auto 30 runs, runes no longer fail upgrading, evolving monsters doesn’t reset them to level 1, your stat towers are no longer something you have to grind—instead being tied to your level. It’s ridiculous how much more user friendly the game is, and with such a great core gameplay loop, being more user friendly is enormous. Summoners War is probably the best gacha game on mobile, and quite frankly, now that these QoL improvements are in place (and more keep coming—the day I’m writing this review, they’ve updated the game to let you save a rune set from one monster and load it on another!) it’s not really all that close. This is the one game I always end up coming back too, and I think they know it, since each time I do so, I’m inundated with rewards to help me plunge straight back into the game with no time wasted.
Only complaint is that Natural 5* rates are still hilariously bad, but these days they have enough events to slightly offset this. L/D rates are not even worth mentioning. With how infrequent L/D summons are, it feels even worse on that end, though it seems the intent is to keep L/D 5* monsters very rare.

What a joke!!
Some years ago I made a pack purchase at a high price and and I didnt received the pack, I made an enquiry to have the developers fix the problem and they asked that I send them a screenshot of my past purchases from them (the lastest 5 if I recall correctly) unedited, I did this but they replied with the request of having no other purchases in between… but I did have other app store downloads in-between making their request completely impossible, in return. The only way I could show them this would be to edit the purchase list, so my only option was to contact my bank and have them refund me. Maybe their process has changed since but my experience with them lacked respect and I haven't bought a pack since AND I don't play the game anymore either.Show lessEarthbot
Secondary awakening
Please Com2Us I’m not sure if I’m the only person asking for it but I would like to see more secondary awakened monsters especially the original monsters from 10 years ago for example Sieq ( starting fire hound) would be an amazing upgrade so it would make the monster useful again I notice that a lot of monsters go unused because they aren’t the “META” anymore however if your motto is to make a balanced game then please make it so more of the original 3 star monsters have a chance to compete with natural 5 star monsters. Thanks in advanced :) P.S please change the way we can transmorgify the monsters as some of us have trouble competing in the world arena to get the reward and if possible to make it so we can buy the costume for 2-3$ instead of 30$ as the extra crystals and mana in every package is useless because it ain’t worth much when items in game are worth more than what I’m paying real money for as I would rather save it to afford other things however please please please change the crystal amount for dimensional (orange) energy (+10) for 100 crystals is bonkers man and it takes so long to get them back after using them please Com2US make these changes 👍🏼Show lessMistofMemories

Want to watch another team instant dot your team with the maximum dots or how about watch a team have 14 turns in a row how about getting stunned and put to sleep so the attacking team goes 21 times in a row well then this is your kind of game if you want unbalanced pvp filled with sand bagging whales who spend more on this game than you make in a year while their "world tournament" winner gets a whopping 100k omg could own an entire country with those kinds of cash monnies winnings 😹😹😹 Y'all get an extra star for replying seriously the winners should be getting 250k and if you can introduce a point system into the other games to help pvp balance you can do it here a 6* should have higher point value than 5* awakened 6* legendary runes should have the highest point value but stone improved runes should have the most stats like attack % should increase the value of the runes higher than attack points etc but if y'all don't want to experience an exodus you need to fix the game the chat is filled with people talking about quitting after the 10 year anni reddit has people literally giving away incredibly valuable accounts because they feel their time and efforts are not respected with mediocre rewards from grinding while whales now dwarf what a f2p can accomplish and I know it's a business at the end of the day but there's a lot that can be done to further the business and keep it going for another 10 years imoShow lessskylerm87

I recently updated the app and all of a sudden it wont load past 1.9% of ANOTHER DAILY Data download (which is getting ridiculous, why have a massive update when it downloads 1.7 gb every time i log in?) game doesn’t load past 1.9%. What is wrong with the game????
Just to add to this, i’m not sure what you guys have done but i am able to log back in. Thank you for fixing this issue and for the extra’s in my inbox.

Com2us hello. This review is not to attack you or the game. But there is so much potential for summoners war you really need to add more game play. You do not update or add new features nearly as much as you should. There’s definitely a lot more money to make from summoners. It’s got to be more interesting. And come on ease up on the summon rates for nat 4 and nat 5 just a touch not to much. As well decent rune drops. You will increase player base by doing very simple actions. Keep the game interesting by adding frequent game play events(not just mission events) maybe unique dungeon with a series of stages with rewards like toa but way shorter and different style. The game becomes stale and to Grindy to the point most players don’t want to play or come back and/or make new accounts. Therefore you lose players and lose money. Add more levels you can start off with 10 work your way up to 100. You can lengthen the campaign. I won’t touch every subject because there’s far to much to change but There is so many little things you can do to improve such a great game and make tons and tons of money that I believe you’re missing out on. Great game
I have been playing since 2014 and must say that most of the recent big changes has been positive but there are improvements that can be made. Please redo pvp rankings. I’m top 0.2% and only fighter 3. Maybe you can show arena defence failure matches to see what people are using against your defence. Also a cool new pvp game mode where you place 5 monsters on def and the attacker bans 1 enemy unit then the battle commences like a regular arena battle.
