App Has Car Stuck in Valet Mode
Just purchased a 2025 GV80 Prestige after being a Mercedes customer for years. While setting up our profiles, the car went into Valet Mode and locked us out of the entire system. The app says the car is NOT in Valet Mode no matter how many times we delete, re-download, refresh, etc., and because the app is the only way to get the car OUT of Valet Mode, we had to return the car to the dealer to try to figure it out. If you go to the customer support forums on the Genesis website, there are many examples of this exact issue with some customers waiting months for help from Genesis. The app also does NOT have a refresh button even though every time I log in it gives me a refresh button message. I am SO disappointed in this experience and feel like we may have made a mistake purchasing a Genesis.Show less*Disappointing Experience so far with [Genesis app]*
I'm having issues with [this GENESIS app] on both my iPhone 12 Pro Max (256GB) and my husband's iPhone XR (set up as second driver). Despite multiple logins, the app hasn't updated my vehicle's location in over a day. I've received incorrect notifications (e.g., "car unlocked" when it was actually locked) and the app doesn't save my settings to the car. The only information it seems to store is my car's VIN number.
I've tried using the app while sitting in my newly purchased 2025 Genesis GV80 Prestige (bought on June 22, taken possession on June 25), but app doesn't appear to communicate with the vehicle effectively. The lack of a refresh button and failure to update information make the app nearly useless. Hoping for a prompt fix!

Another suggestion for the talented development team. After sending a request could the response messages have “SENT” “SUCCESSFUL” “UNSUCCESSFUL” or other summary response displayed prominently at the top of the message above the wordy explanation of the request result. All that information is good but it’s difficult to glance at you phone or Apple Watch and find the word “success,” etc. to quickly get the result of requests. If, for example, a request is unsuccessful then the user can drill into the tiny details for more information. I think it’s safe to assume the user knows which request they are receiving a response to.
The tiny spinner on the refresh button is way too small. It’s difficult to determine if it’s spinning and if you happen to send another request when it is you’ll get the error message stating another request is pending. Perhaps remove the spinner from the button, and/or make it larger or different so it’s clear what state the spinner is in. Also, activate the spinner for all types of requests. Also, it would be nice to be able to access the climate presets without having to use the climate start/stop button. Sometimes I accidentally send a start request when all I wanted to do is modify the presets. Otherwise, developers, nice job!Show lessDeveloper Response
Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your suggestions about the spinner and accessing climate presets, and will definitely consider making improvements in future updates. We're glad you're enjoying the app overall!
