  • Overall disappointment

I loved the first 2 versions of this game. They have entertained me for hours and I thought this would be a welcome addition to the rotation. I feel like someone's little brother got the licensing for this game from Rubicon and made their version as quickly as possible. No polish, no fun, not a great game. Feels so rushed and boring repeat of the first game. It's so bad that an update might not even fix this.
What happened to skirmishes, pass and play, online play, and a host of other game options. So far the campaign is terrible and from the reviews I've read it doesn't get better.
Big disappointment. If you are new to franchise pick up the earlier games and save yourself the boredom, of playing this one.

  • Best for newbies

I have completed GLWG and GBWG so was excited to see a sequel. GLWG2 improves on the original by including elements from GBWG such as ability to destroy oil rigs and factories. That's the good.

Factory capture is now done with a single engineer capture rather than a double, which dumbs down an already bad AI. And there are no settings except the ridiculously easy default. These are the worse set of boards in the series with the exception of level 60 (and that is the final level!)

I kept waiting for the boards to get more interesting and the AI more challenging but it did not happen. Others complain that there is no landscape mode and I see on the developer's site that it is coming but it won't save an uninteresting game.

The boards are small and boring with little thought put into them. The original GLWG at least had good boards. If more involved boards get added as an add-on pack and the AI is beefed up, then I may come back. Otherwise I do not see any replay value that I saw in the first 2 games in the series. I played GBWG many many times.

  • Good game

It might not be as good as the others, but it's the first update so I'm giving it a chance.
  • Just OK

Pretty much same as the first two. No multi player and no skirmishes (yet). Finished all 60 levels in two days. It wasn't very challenging.
  • Have to agree with previous poster

The original game is outstanding. The sequel not has nothing to add, but is considerably less.
  • Way disappointing

I can't believe how disappointing this game is. I kept playing hoping it would get better. It never did! The missions had small land, sometimes starting toe to toe because of how small the area was. Could take over the enemy in insane small amount of moves. AI really leaves a lot to be desired. Loved the other ones in this series, wish this one would have loved up to its bigger brothers.

Really if you are going to release a game like this, how about putting a little time in it, instead of just trying to such money out of your fans.

I would recommend to not buy this one. You will not be missing anything.

  • No chalenge to easy !

I am a big fan of Great little war game #1 and the big problem is that in the version 2 there are no chalenge ! To easy.
  • Game 2 ...but trying for a new audience too...

This is still a very nice turn-based war game. It has very easy levels early on. But that has to be so that any new players can find out what /how to play.
Note****the game doesn't really ever tell you, but...you can leave a wounded soldier/unit on your blue circle door as your turn is ended, and when your turn comes around again, that soldier/unit will be at full charge.***
Yes the 1st game version does seem a bit better.....but I am a big fan of one cost and you get the whole game. Those freemium games are bad. Overall...You will not be too disappointed with this effort of game play.

  • Big step down

I was a big fan of the other Little War Game titles, but they didn't do very well with this one. On my iPhone 5S, it's a major battery killer, and it makes the phone heat up quite a lot. The gameplay doesn't help, either, because the AI is beyond dim-witted. In previous WGs, you had to think a little bit and strategize--they weren't brain busters by any means, but there was a little challenge--but in this one, the AI will let you walk all over it even if you use bad strategy or no strategy whatsoever. What a letdown.

  • It's ok

While not a bad game on its own feel this game is not nearly as good as the original and even less so than great big war game. The game is much more easy to complete and had no difficulty setting which it's predecessors had. I agree with others who say the maps feel like rejects from previous versions that were quickly packaged together for a quick buck (or in this case, three). I recommend steering clear of this one.
