  • Pass n' Play and Skirmish

Great game, it just needs the pass and play feature from GLWG (original) and skirmish so you can practice your skills and not campaign. Love the upgrade your troops! Add skirmish and pass n' play and I'll give five stars. Also, I agree with the others, it's too easy with the computer vs. the first GLWG

  • Totally Addictive

This is the first game of the franchise that I have bought and it is the best decision I've ever made. This game is addictive, fun, innovative and truly stunning. This is the best game on the App Store by far, loads of missions and unlock able infantry within game. This is game is ideal for strategy gamers whether your new to the franchise or not. Definitely worth £1.99!!!

  • Very buggy...

I have liked glwg and gbwg and was great to see another instalment however very disappointed - they didn't bug test properly before releasing - it regularly crashes and you have to restart the level - don't waste your money until they fix it
  • Massive disappointment

As a huge fan of the other War Game titles I was excited to get this new release. Unfortunately it is almost identical to the previous version, only the multiplayer, save game and various other features have been removed.

The game is far too easy. You must complete a mission as it won't even autosave your progress. The upgrade system has been dumbed down. I have no idea why anyone should buy this over v1.

  • Fun Game To Play

Very nice game, just like the original. Been playing strategy games since the 80's, and this one gets my vote. Not sure why this game got such negative ratings... maybe they should stick to first person shooters and Candy Crush and leave turn-based strategy to strategists
  • Disappointing outing

As a big fan of the previous GLWG and GBWG releases, I snapped this one up as soon as it was released and found myself very disappointed. The other games, while not particularly difficult, did at least require an element of strategy and planning. Not so for this one. So far it's pretty boring, I hate to say.

I'm ok with the portrait only (would prefer the option to do landscape, but it's not a deal breaker, particularly with the tiny maps this game has), and I'm fine with no new units. But it's pretty inexcusable for the AI to be as awful as it is. It would be one thing to have AI that can't fight its way out of a paper bag if there were multi-player, or even skirmish where I could slant the odds toward the AI, but this game only has a single player campaign, and frankly, it's not really worth my time due to the extreme lack of any challenge.

I really can't recommend this game.

  • Disapointed

Having played this games predecessor I was excited to see a sequel. However upon starting the game it became obvious that the former elements that I loved were not there. The AI is at times pathetic and rarely aggressive. The missions don't have the scope and size of the previous game either. I was hoping to see new features or units to improve the game and was disappointed. If you loved the last game then you might want this game to kill time but you shouldn't be looking for a new challenge. Rather I think this game is a step back from previous iterations.

  • All the reviews are true I'm afraid

How can you not have a strategy game with landscape view??? Or at least as an option. I have prob written less than five reviews in the 7 years of owning iProducts and I hope that is telling of how disappointed I was in this game following the previous releases.

I won't even play it at this point. The last games were my favorites of any ipad games that exist...this is just a slap in the face...

  • Great series, but missing previous advances

I have to say I love this series of games, and great big war game was excellent, really challenging with big maps, fuel and ammo depletion and funny cut scenes. On this game the maps are very small although 60 of them, they r far too easy, with no cutscenes, less units and not much strategy involved. Point upgrade system is still present however very easy to unlock/upgrade and once you unlock certain units you will breeze through levels. Great big war game 2 please....if not then invest you time in great big war game.

  • Too easy

Finished the game without ever losing. The maps are tiny. Why would you release such an update? Stick with the original...
