  • Poor

Can't watch more than one chapter using the app. Had to watch it using Safari.

  • Don't subscribe through iTunes

UPDATE: Changing my review to five stars from one thanks to Jamplay's awesome customer service. They worked around my issue and got me up and running.. All before I ever got a reply from Apple's customer service. Bravo!

ORIGINAL POST: The one-star rating is more a reflection of Apple than it is of Jamplay. If you're going to subscribe to this app, make sure you go to the Jamplay website, create an account and subscribe through there. I made the mistake of subscribing through an in-app purchase. It worked for one day, but now it doesn't recognize that I have a subscription and wants me to upgrade to use the premium content. What's worse is that subscribing this way means you cannot access the content on the website. You are limited to using the app.. Which doesn't work for me. $22.99 flushed right down the toilet. I haven't decided yet if I'll subscribe through the website yet and just eat the cost. Just be warned! The app looks awesome, but sign-up through Jamplay instead of using Apple as the middle man.

  • Log in issues using iTunes purchase

Two months trying to buy thru iTunes and access videos, Apple and Jamplay refer you to the other and never did get to use it. Bug on using an iTunes account to login and purchase it seems.
  • Excellent Resource...

... for all flavours of guitar music provided by the main site. Video tutorials are clear even on my iPad mini) and most have multiple points-of-view (POV) so you can see the tutorial examples from your own as well as the tutor's POV.
  • Don't get this. Basic $20 per month.

Oh sure the app is free but the lessons and the songs are not. Basically it's a subscription and it starts at $20 per month. NOT FREE. Go to YouTube and learn for free or a proper tutor and pay just a little more for lessons than this app costs!
  • Wow!!!

Such a great app! A must for JamPlay subscribers or anyone who wants to learn the guitar. The app makes it easy to browse through all the lessons (I found through the app a course that teaches how to setup a studio and gives recording techniques).

A great job from a great company!
  • There is nothing FREE about this app.

Why pay for a $30 subscription when you can learn of sites like, Songsterr and Ultimate Guitar, or just Youtube? There are plenty of Guitar lessons on YouTube.
  • Easy access

Gives easy access from the ipad, allows jamplay to operate in the background.
Doesn't give the same features as when accessing via a browser, won't record progress on my personal items, doesn't allow searches in the same way as the website.
    But still good!
  • Much content for all levels

Cheaper than private lessons and a perfect mix of musical styles. In a few days I found my self with a fresh palette in which I promptly used in my own playing.
I highly recommend this for both the accomplished musician and the novice.
I did however experience problems when I paid for my subscription. So I suggest that you start your account before you pay for a subscription. The 5 stars I rate, includes the excellent customer service I received to rectify my issue.

Thanks Deb from Colorado for the prompt service.
