asks for a lot of inappropriate information to register app
  • There’s a lot of bugs, need update

On the layers checklist, faults/ca faults, liquefaction (sometimes works if changing terrain but not always). Other than that, it’s a great app to see latest earthquake map and hopefully in the near future you’ll be able to give out some sort of warning if it’s a big one and hopefully a good distance away so there’s some time to get ready
  • The core features don’t work

For some reason, the interface for me doesn’t even resemble what the screenshots show. Few examples: quake insights section is empty/blank, I can’t see any fault lines, fault zones don’t display, and there isn’t anything displayed regarding risk or retrofit costs.

The legend box displays and layers do show their corresponding key in the legend box, however, no data is displayed on the map. Sometimes the map changes zoom level depending on the layer I selected, but I might as well just use Apple Maps for the basic functionality I’m getting out of this app - i.e. satellite view...

Good thing you have a web interface that can display relevant data for me. Even that works only half the time, though, randomly returning me to an Access Denied screen every few minutes while I try to browse and modify various risk assessment options.

What gives? Happy to update review rating if you can help me get this working.
  • Love love love it!

I love that the app gives me recents earthquakes around my area and my hazard risk of my home. I also like that the people who came up with this app are scientist so the information is coming from a creditable source. I went to the actual website and they have tons of blogs on recent earthquakes so I can understand more and not just have news but actual earthquake info in detail! Can't wait until next update.
  • Horrible since update

Nothing like the previous versions of this app.
  • Beautiful, easy to use interface

Great app! Useful information you can't find anywhere else displayed cleanly.
  • Useful quake risk map

I love this app for checking liquifaction and mudslide hazards around the Bay Area. Very useful planning tool.
  • Temblor is the best app ever!

I have look at other earthquake apps, but by far Temblor provides everything I wanted! I can modify my colors, notifications and location! Love this app!!!
  • Add this feature please

This is a nice app but what it really needs is the ability to utilize the iPhone accelerometer to detect earthquakes and automatically share that data to the cloud and/or the USGS.

Only when enough similar readings are detected from a certain region within a narrow timeframe would the data be considered legitimate and then be pushed back out to the map for all users to view.

The app could also be active only at certain times of the day/night that the user defines. As well as only be active when connected to pre-defined wifi networks. Such as Home or work.

Another option would be to only take accelerometer reading when it is plugged into power (such as when on your night stand or connected to a computer USB).

The app could also use the iPhone GPS to disable sensor reading when moving. As well as only record seismic data when the app detects the iPhone is laying flat on its back.

Another option would be to disable the seismic sensor data output when a face is detected with the front facing camera.

Requiring the app to be running in the foreground would also further prevent false readings.

This could easily, quickly, and cheaply create a huge network of seismographs around the world.

Great app, very informative. It is amazing to see how many earthquakes happen each and every day and to see them all on a map at the same time.
