  • A very capable journal

    Here's a rewritten version:

Someone mentioned that this app is better than DayOne, and I have to agree. I've tried just about every journalling app available on the App Store, and when I say "tried," I mean I've used many of them daily for months or even years. Out of all of them, I believe this is the best I've come across. It’s incredibly intuitive, visually appealing, and makes organising your thoughts and notes effortless. However, I'm giving it four stars for two reasons: first, the updates don't seem to be very frequent, which is a bit concerning. Second, the app lacks the option to add videos. While I understand this could be a deliberate choice due to space constraints with regular entries, it’s still a notable omission.

I've never been a fan of subscription models, and I'm not quite sure why this app uses one. It doesn’t rely on third-party resources, so the developer isn’t incurring extra costs for additional functionality. That said, at £8.99, it’s still much cheaper than most of the competing apps. So, all things considered, it’s not a bad deal.

Let’s hope we see more regular updates!

  • Awesome journal app!

I had been looking for a journal app for awhile and happened to find this one. I really enjoying using it & look forward to it! I started with the basic version & upgraded to Pro without hesitation! It is so flexible, and feature-rich. I enjoy adding photos, tags, folders with colors & designs with unlimited entries. It is so user-friendly and adaptable. I use the search feature to recall events. It is therapeutic and helps with reflection, meditation and recording life events. Glad to have this app and look forward to using it daily!! Thanks to the developers for this awesome app!

  • Over 1000 entries. Best app, but no support.

I have been using the app and the website version for years now as a paid subscriber. I have well over 1000 entries which are grouped into four folders. I like this feature that other programs do not offer. The folders. No other program, I found features the level of organization and search capacity and ease that I found with this app. on the other hand, there are drawbacks. I do use a dedicated dropbox account to back this up. There are many times when the app and the web browser version will not synchronize. I have never received a return message from support anytime I have contacted the developer. in general, the problem can be solved by unlinking the dropbox account and relinking it. However, that will then prompt a significant time-consuming re-synchronization of the account. I do perform backups periodically, which I think is very important if you care about your journal. I also have PDF versions in case the company ever goes under.

  • Very Strange

I’m quite disappointed in this app. I paid for the premium on IOS. I find the typing is NOT the same as in any other app. Specifically, the dictionary does not respond naturally with English expressions; I can’t get any flow happening as I am always needing to backspace and fix unnatural expressions
*I’ve NEVER experienced this frustration in any other app, in text or formatting.
ALSO: I cannot get it to connect to my Dropbox. - Yes, I have ensured that I have space and the allowed quantity of connections. I have also ensured that Diaro settings are selected for Dropbox.

  • Love the app but sadly no option for hand written notes

I love the app, I have been using it since 2021, however I recently bought an iPad and want to use my stylus to take handwritten notes. This app does not have such a feature, therefore I think I will be switching apps once my subscription ends next month. Sad to go!
  • One of the best travel diary’s but app support terrible

Great diary but could be the best. I have tried on numerous occasions to contact support but alas no response. I’ve used Diaro for over 15 years without a problem other than the Dropbox feature.
Would give it 5 stars but support communication has let it down. Support is nonexistent with all emails just ignored. I’m happy to adjust this review if support resumes. Other than that I’ve started looking for another app. Communicate to your loyal customers Diaro.

  • Still a gem after all these years!

I’ve been using this consistently for some years now and it’s pretty rock solid. The sync just works (and the sub isn’t too expensive) and it’s very easy to use, and with enough options for my needs. And the developer is very responsive too, if something breaks, make a bug report and hey presto it’s fixed in a couple of days! Quite amazing.

  • A User for Many Years!

I have been using Diaro for many years, probably 10 or even 15 years. It has records of the time I provided in-home care, and some of my thoughts of events.

But what I love the most is the “On this day”. Every morning, I clicked on this to see what happened a year, two years even five years ago. I find this to be quite enlightening. For this reason I am writing more and more each day in Diaro.

Hopefully Diaro will continued to be as good as it is now. (For your info, I am a premium from a few years ago, it’s a life time. Not like the new apps with monthly subscription.)

  • Diaro

Such a great program; I love this program, its flexibility and ability to search events, instances etc. Without this program life is much harder. I don’t know how I survived before this great program. Best wishes, F.A.S
