Version History of Cross Stitch Creator

3.09

September 3, 2024

Improvements: - Removed the "hold to drag" square from the editor to support the more standard "two finger drag to move" that's used throughout iPadOS. Dragging with a single finger now applies the current tool (e.g. draws stitches), which improves the experience for Apple Pencil - Added the ability to select which symbol to use for each color in a pattern - Upgraded existing lower resolution symbols in older patterns to use the equivalent higher resolution symbols - Adds stitch numbers to chunk separators in pattern PDFs - Save the sort type used in the thread color picker Minor bug fixes: - Backstitches in the PDF now properly scale their line width according to the stitch size - Colors in the PDF that are only used for backstitches now only have an entry in the backstitch section rather than both the standard stitches section and backstitch section

- Added a contact us button in the help pages - Added settings to allow you to change the thicknesses of the grid lines in patterns (press the gear in the top right on the progress tracking screen) - Added the ability to view a preview of what the pattern will look like when it's done being stitched (press the eye in the top right on the progress tracking screen or editor) - Added rulers to the top and left sides of the pattern while tracking progress to help you see where you are in the pattern when zoomed in - Protect against slashes in pattern names

Added the ability to start off creating a pattern from scratch instead of requiring generating from a picture and clearing out all the stitches Added a "resize/crop" option to the effects tab in the editor to let you resize, crop, and shift your pattern Added a crop to content" option to the effects tab in the editor to automatically reduce the size of the pattern down to just the non-blank stitches Greatly sped up app launch time if you have a lot of patterns Fixed a rare bug where the grid in the editor could disappear on extremely large patterns Squashed some minor bugs

Added a sidebar to the editor with two tabs: - The first tab displays all the colors currently being used by the pattern. Tapping on a color will let you replace it with another color. - The second tab provides some operations like reducing the number of colors used. It also has a "clear all stitches" option to make it easier to start designing a pattern from scratch. Other changes: - Greatly sped up pattern generation - Add the ability to share/export palettes as PDFs listing the enabled colors - Fixed a bug where renaming a palette wouldn't delete the palette with the old name - Minor bug fixes

Add information about the progress of individual colors: - Display color progress in the color details box/popup - Add the ability to sort the key by color progress - Add the ability to flash the incomplete stitches of a particular color to help locate them (new button in the color details box/popup) - The check mark on a color's row in the key now indicates whether or not that color has been completed (all stitches manually colorized) instead of if it is "on" (from the toggle in the color details box/popup) Other changes: - Add the ability to directly rename palettes - Add the ability to change the fabric on existing patterns (tap the fabric row in the key) - Minor bug fixes

Reworked a large portion of the app to support adding new features in the future. Please let me know if you see any issues. Other changes: - Sped up several things across the app. Things should feel a bit more responsive. - New patterns now use much more detailed/higher resolution symbols. Existing patterns will still keep their original symbols, but editing a pattern will update the symbols to the high resolution ones. - Added more options to the PDF creator such as how to sort colors in the key - Improved support for larger accessibility fonts - Updated how patterns are saved and loaded - Removed the option to save patterns to Photos - Various minor bug fixes

  • Good but not great

There is a lot of awesome things about this app. It transfers drawings for the most part, still requires editing and cleaning up. But, one of the things that bothers me though is having to hold the square down to draw and fill in multiple squares. I can see why it could be helpful to have a toggle, but I wish it was a setting I could change. Additionally, when choosing dmc thread, the sort doesn’t save, so you have to go in and re-sort how you want it to be the next time you go to find a color. Additionally, I wish I could choose what symbols the thread use, but haven’t been able to find a way to do that yet, hope they can continue to perfect it!

    Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback! I'll see if I can get some of those improvements in the next update. Can you send an email to support@adamscoolapps.com with details on how you would prefer the setting to fill multiple squares to work so we can work out a solution? Thanks! UPDATE: In version 3.09, the "hold the square to draw" has been reworked, the sort order now saves, and you can now select which symbol each color uses. Enjoy!
  • I love this app

The ease of use and the many functions. I spend many hours creating patterns from scratch and would love the back stitch, french knot and diagonal stitch added to it to make it the best app for creating cross stitch on the iPad.
  • Just bought

Learning but looks like it does a good job. The pictures show the chart pattern on one page. I understand the color key is on a separate page but I would like the actual chart to be all on one page please.
