Brilliant
This app is indispensable. I don’t know how anybody DMs without it. It’s brilliant.
Few Minor Changes
This is still a great app, I have been using it for years. I have a few minor issues though.
• In stat blocks, a separate section for bonus actions would be nice.
• We use some custom sizes (colossal and mega) and a fillable field would be nicer than a drop down.
• Adding the option for customized skills
• Being able to use other passive skills besides perception.
• The ability to create other environments (coastal and planar come to mind).
These are minor issues and I have work around, but they would make my life so much easier.

Can't sycnc bacups.
I bought the OSX and iOS versions, cannot load backups between Mac and iPhone. Kinda useless.
One suggestion
I absolutely love this app, I use I’ve used it for the past 2 years to keep my game organized and its so simple and streamlined
The only suggestion I would give would be to add a separate category for adding bonus actions
There’s an area for actions, reactions and legendary actions, but no bonus actions
It’s a very minor fix, but would honestly make the app perfect in my opinion

Good for organizing but a little hard to understand
I like this app, it is very useful for combat and remembering spell rolls and stuff without having to look it up every time. One thing I would recommend is maybe make a tutorial, or some way to figure out how to make everything. Another suggestion is maybe add a weapon (for example, dagger) that is not assigned to a creature already. Like, I was putting the dagger action into a character of mine and there was a kobold dagger and a bunch of other stuff, but not a normal dagger with no proficiencies added. Also, I did not see thorn whip in the compendium. (Specific, I know) Another question, I am currently confused about characters. When I make encounters I can make characters but they do not show up in the characters section of the compendium . Wondering if I did something wrong or if it’s just a glitch or something. Sorry for the ramble but one last thing, the app does not appear as it does in the preview. Is that just outdated or what… Anyway, I love this app, it’s very helpful, and with a few modifications this could be perfect!

Question
Where do i find my notes in the encounter?
When you edit an encounter, you can also add notes, but when i enter an encounter, i can't find them. Where are they?

Fantastic utility, Needs update
This App is the best i have found so far. And as a first time DM it Sorted a lot of the Grundy stuff out for me interms of combat and how to keep track of everything. And for that i use it constantly and love it.
However: It needs to be updated.. Obviously a lot of other offical content has been released since this has. And it would be nice if i didn't have to manually input any monster/trait/attack/ ETC that wasn’t in the Monster Manual only.
I would rate this 5 star and sing songs of praise about the app if it got up to speed with all the new monster and abilities from the source books.
Q: is there any scope or plan for this to happen in the near future?

So much potential…
I’ve loved this app from the moment I started using it (about 6 years ago I think?) and if you had have asked me a few years back I would’ve said this app was a 5/5 easily. I have a lot of good things I can say about this app but with how long it’s been since it was updated I feel the need to express my thoughts on the app. This will be a long review because it’s something I care about.
With all the dnd tools coming out this app is becoming more and more outdated and it’s becoming harder to justify using it. I would gladly pay more for this app if it started offering even a 10th of what something like world anvils/one notes writing capabilities are.
Storing campaign information in this app is really janky to say the least and its frustrating because this app has an insane amount of potential and could crush anything other application with only a few additions. Although it looks like the app has been kind of abandoned I’m going to give my suggestions anyway in hopes that the developer pays more attention to it at some point in the future.
Suggestions:
- Folders; allow adventures to be nested within each other/be able to store them in their own folders. Some campaigns are massive and there’s not enough room with it just becoming a mess.
- Improve the Notes Section & world building; perhaps look to world anvils approach for inspiration, maybe even create a new column for world information. I would love to be able to store more world information in this app and world build inside of the game master app
- Allow for more writing categories under the players perhaps allowing for custom categories under the player and non player characters. With only the description at the bottom and it being at the bottom it’s mostly useless.
- A less realistic suggestion, allow for better item transfer between game master and fight club. In fact more interaction between the two apps would be amazing like being able to steal an item from a player or damage them actively.
- Maps: there needs to be a better way to have images and especially maps under the adventures. The current system feels like I’m using a computer from a decade ago.
I’m sure there’s other features and improvements that could be made but these are the main ones I can think of off the top of my head. There’s also a few bugs here and there but they’re minor. I would gladly pay more for this app if it offered what a lot of the competition is and I think many other people would too especially with how garbage dnd beyond is.
This app has so much potential and I really hope the developer puts more time and effort into it because this app could be genuinely phenomenal but for now as much as I would love to give it a 5 star review I can’t justify it with how it’s just been tossed to the side. For that matter even fight club is really only seemingly getting bug fixes with little to no major updates but I don’t think it is in as dire need as game master.
I hope this helps at all and I hope to see improvements to the app in the future cause it is genuinely a great app, just in dire need of some attention.

It's what I'm looking for, but missing features
Surprisingly I can't find any other app that does what this does: let me make a campaign, make encounters and add characters/enemies, estimate challenge level, etc. But more than 3 encounters and it's behind a paywall. If editing an enemy's CR also edited their stats (for example a 3 cr mammoth has the same hp as 6 cr mammoth), and if the players had level advancement, I might have considered paying the $3, but it doesn't. I was only on for about 10 mins and I'm sure there are many other functions I would be disappointed not to see after paying. It's nice to write out all your stuff on paper and transfer it here for quick reference, but if you're homebrewing or dm'ing for the first time I don't recommend.

Frustratingly good but only half there.
Justmlots of missing features and functions. For exapmle, unless I’m missing something when you import a character as an NPC their spells all vanish and you have to add them again manually.
It don’t like the idea of moving to D&D beyond but I might if it’s more functional than this
