Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming is a world acclaimed master of Tai Chi and Qigong and he personally guides you through the complete series of Tai Chi movements. It is recommended that you Master Part 1 of the form first, which is also available in a 2.5 hour video app. Master Yang also explores the “Song of Taijiquan”, explaining the deeper meaning of Tai Chi practice. Whether you are a beginner or a Tai Chi master already, these amazing exercises offer the perfect combination of relaxation and full-body exercise. You'll enjoy reduced stress, a stronger immune system and a deeper awareness of breath and body coordination. Tai Chi, or Taiji, is short for Tai Chi Chuan, or Taijiquan, which translates from Chinese to “Grand Ultimate fist”. Tai Chi is an internal-style Chinese martial art that can be traced back to the Chen family, the Daoists at Wudang mountain and ultimately to Shaolin Temple. "The Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi" says: "regular practice leads to more vigor and flexibility, better balance and mobility and a sense of well-being. Tai Chi also has a beneficial impact on the health of the heart, bones, nerves and muscles, immune system and the mind." When practiced slowly for health purposes, Tai Chi is a type of Qigong. Qi-Gong means "energy-work". Qigong (chi kung) is the ancient art of building the body's Qi (energy) to a higher level and circulating it throughout the body for rejuvenation and health. Qigong increases the quantity of energy in the body and improves the quality of your circulation through energy pathways, known as meridians. Qigong is sometimes called "acupuncture without needles." Qigong can be effective in helping people with insomnia, stress-related disorders, depression, back pain, arthritis, high blood pressure, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, bioelectric circulatory system, lymphatic system and digestive system. The slow, relaxed Tai Chi movements are widely recognized for their health benefits, improving your balance, strengthening the internal organs, muscles, joints, spine and bones and developing abundant energy. Thank you for downloading our free app! We are striving to make the best possible video apps available. Sincerely, The team at YMAA Publication Center, Inc. Reviews of Yang Tai Chi for Beginners 2&3

  • Incredible 108 Form lesson

This video app has a few hours of priceless instructions by Dr. Yang, with details of the martial applications for every movement so you understand the purpose of each posture. Great deal for this rare teaching. This is the stuff you can only learn in class at a traditional Chinese martial arts school. Update in 2023 works great on new iPad
  • Dr. Yang is the real deal!

5* for impeccable instruction from the revered Master who holds and can teach the « secret » like none other. See entire form in rear view, best way to practice without distraction of mirror image. Will rate this app w 5* rating for a VR updated version. Keeping screen right in front of your eyes as you move all around would be the ultimate! Please please update to VR!!!!
Note: FYI here is quote from the about section “Dr. Yang's tai chi lineage can be traced back to the Yang family through Grandmaster Kao, Tao (高濤) and his teacher Yue, Huanzhi (樂奐之), an indoor disciple of Yang, Chengfu (楊澄甫). “

  • A True YMAA Masterpiece

I bought Tai Chi parts 1-3 as offered, used it for a month seriously and was able to practice the form. I have purchased every training app YMAA has offered as of now. That really says it all! Quality, clarity, explanations...its all there intended to be used and mastered.
