Great app

Great app easy to learn how to use it to contact if you’re having issues with the app thank you so much. My son is already starting to press buttons to communicate. He is non-verbal epileptic autistic intellectual disability 100% on us to do everything. Plus it’s also cheap.

Not good

Too expensive. Apps like this need a better awareness of the fact that disabled people do tend to have more difficulty financially. Also you can’t use it online two way which is ridiculous for that amount considering so many people interact online now

misleading free trial, okay otherwise

overall a good app, i liked it and had lots of good features, but several issues i ended up noticing, as well as just some features i disliked. i no longer use it, but kept it downloaded in case i ever have the money to fully buy it.

- after my free trial ended the voice stopped working, even after i switched it back to a default voice. i had thought that only the premium voices were paywalled, and the app didn’t tell me why i couldn’t use the voices anymore.

- i downloaded a backup of my boards, and then tried to upload it to test if it worked. it did not process my backup properly, and put all of my old boards into one folder instead of how they were meant to look.

- the only way to copy a sentence without the premium is to download it as an image, which is inconvenient and slow. this is the only way to communicate with it other than showing the screen to someone else.

- sentences can be read with the ios screenreader after the trial is over, but any words that have icons are read after the rest of the sentence. (i.e., the sentence “I want to eat”, where “I” and “eat” have icons, will be read “want to I eat”)

Excellence at its finest

Avaz has been life changing for not only my son but my entire family. It has opened the lines of communication which has relieved much frustration on my son’s behalf thus resulting in significantly less Self injurious behavior. He has also begun to learn how to speak just by hearing the word repeated to him as he continuously presses the words and hears it spoken out loud to him. As a lifetime member I can tell you their customer service is amazing !!!! They have always with love and care addressed any concerns or any minor issues in a expedited manor. I can’t say enough about this company and recommend it to anyone looking for a AAC device.

Greatest

Because there is a new update

Awesome!! AAC of choice

I lose speech quite often, and I genuinely prefer Avaz to other AAC apps, especially with the subscription option they offer. The layout and organization genuinely makes sense, and isn't too overwhelming or confusing, even at the highest vocabulary level, unlike other apps I've seen. It is unfortunate there's no option to save phrases for later, so you have to type everything on the spot, but that's minor. This app is affordable, the voice options are numerous, and you can customize just about everything, with the exception of some preset words. I would highly recommend checking out! There are also multiple vocabulary levels, as well as a keyboard, AND touch accommodations so you aren't limited in any way. I hope to use this app for years to come :D

No Internet pictures

Hi, I like your game. It’s really fun and I enjoy creating stories on it. But it’s not letting me get to find pictures on the internet whenever I create a new word. Can you please fix this glitch so I won’t get frustrated and everyone will be happy?
I love this game by the way, :)
Thank you,
Iris

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your kind words about Avaz, our AAC app. While it’s not a game, it’s designed to make communication more accessible for those who need an AAC solution. We’re pleased to inform you that the internet pictures are now available again. To access them, all you need to do is update the app from the app store. Once again, thank you for your support. We appreciate it! 😊

Used to be good.

My autistic brother used this and we had the free trial just for the " speak" feature, our free trial is up now he refuses to use his AAC as it has changed and he dislikes change.

Have to pay to use it

You have to pay to use the voice feature I would understand to use the pictures and maybe extra voice but for the entire reason I’m getting it I have to pay no it’s stupid. For anyone looking for any other apps that are like this I recommend spoken it’s like this and free to use
