as somebody who uses AAC mostly full time I have been really enjoying proloquo2go. there are a lot of ways to personalize your AAC. this includes voices, display, layout, colors, what the app speaks to give some examples. it is very customizeable which i like a lot. there is also a history function and typing function which i really like a lot! that sort of leads to some of the issues i have. there is a big learning curve in navigation and learning how to customize things was very difficult and frustrating for me, even having prior experience with picture based apps. so i wouldn't reccomend to first time AAC users especially if you aren't full-time. the new voices update sounds weird too. there's a grating breathy quality to them that's been really bothering me and i think it ironically has made some of the voices less clear sounding. there's now weird blip sounds on some words/noises that are startling. for the most part though, really solid selection of voices. that's another thing i've really liked a lot. overall a very good AAC. i would reccommend something less complex to first time AAC users, but if you have more experience and want to upgrade to something more robust proloquo2go is a very good choice.

Hi and thank you for not only the high rating you have given the app but also for taking the time to provide such a comprehensive review. With so many options to customize, we understand it can be a lot when you are first setting up the app. We have tried to make the setup process as simple as possible for new users and the less you customise the default layout, the simpler it is. We also have lots of free resources in the Support section of our website which give illustrated step by step instructions for many of these processes. These can also be accessed within the app Options. The new voices are the neural voice updates which are supposed to make the voices sound more lifelike. We licence these voices from Acapela and we are passing feedback on to them.
