Doesn’t work
Purchased a multi drill and impact driver and received the laser level as a free gift! No wonder..... it is useless. Doesn’t pair with iPhone 6s (on latest iOS). The device is never recognised when plugged in. Have changed battery in device and reinstalled app, still no joy. Shame really as has great potential. If Ryobi want to maintain their reputation perhaps they should thoroughly test their products prior to release, rather than flooding the shelves with as many products as possible?

Buggy
Frequent crashes. Bad screen redraws with missing buttons forcing me to quit and relaunch. Request for personal information can be bypassed.

Horrible app worse device
There is no way this product could be any worse.
I got the Inspections scope and it stopped working after 5 minutes of use. I power up the scope and connect to its little unsecured WiFi. However this app only connected to the scope the first time. Then the app crashed and would never connect to the device again.
Removed the app, put new batteries in the device, forgot the stupid little network. All for nothing.
Also let’s talk about why you have to create an account for this? Everything it does it local. Total BS collecting so much data. Why do you need my email and location data? No reason.
The instructions to connect are also incorrect. It tell you the network requires a password. It doesn’t, the device creates a totally unsecured network.

Start up
Using my iPhone 6SE I could not get my phone works laser level to identify my device. I kept getting a message indicating possible ‘mono’ mode or volume setting errors...then I read the instructions...turned out I was mounting the laser level on the display side of the iPhone...after mounting the device on the backside of my iPhone it worked!

They want full access to your phone
When you install it, it asks you to create an account and give them your email so they can send you "special offers". Then they want you to login when you use the product. They ask for access to all your photos you take, and ask for access to your location even when you're not using the phone. That's a bunch of baloney, none of that is needed to take a measurement. They just want your personal information and precise location 24/7 to resell to marketers and other companies. It soured my whole experience, otherwise I would have given four stars for the app itself.

Worked perfect!!
I'm not sure why everyone is giving this a bad review. It works perfect for me and took about two minutes to set up (That was downloading the app). And you can't beat the price. I'm gonna go buy the other products that go along with this app it works so good! Make sure you know what product your buying! That's all I can say to all the people complaining about it not working!!

Measuring works perfectly
I used this app with the measuring laser and it worked extremely well. Not sure what everyone else is having so much trouble with. Best $15 I've spent in a long time.

Can't put no stars or I would. You must have other devices in order for the phone app to work which makes it a worthless phone app since I can go buy a stud finder that will simply do the job. Terrible product don't waste your time.

updates rendered my Ryobi earbuds useless
Still the worst bit of programming I have ever seen. Months have gone by and Ryobi and their development partner still cannot get this software to work. Plus, to top it off, Apple obsoleted my entire investment in three tools from Ryobi!
thank you incompetent developers. this software has always been EXTREMELY buggy, but I could usually get my tools to work. now your updates have rendered my earbuds useless. first, the app NEVER recognizes the earbuds, but they did at least work regardless (and quite effectively). second, latest update misread the sound pressure from the mic. it registers double which then makes the app block ALL sound. I don't need thirty dollar earbuds to block all sound. why are you folks ruining good ideas with horrendous developers?
