Whose to blame?
Three things have to be working here. A compatible phone, working hardware and an app. The app UX is fine but the company wants to access your location, your microphone and your photos. All of these access points are necessary for expanded use. I watched the set up video and download the app and created an account. The problems I had were many. The app kept identifying my moisture meter as a laser pointer and a pop up screen was repeatedly prompting me to make sure I wasn't in mono mode and to turn up my volume to max and an additional window about earphones. I repeatedly downloaded the app, and even changed the battery in the meter. After making sure all was good on my end I still had the same problems. I called the help line but all I got was an intro line telling me that I had reached the helpline then nothing. Dead air. No help. Not even hours of operation. I trouble shot with the app and website the best I could for an hour. In the end I returned the meter for a refund. Was it the phone? Was it the meter? Was it the app? Whose to blame? I'll never know but I walked away with a negative customer experience regardless.

Frustrating
I bought the laser distance measure, after already trying out the laser pointer, and could not get it to work no matter what I did.
App doesn't recognize the device.
Tried it on both an iPhone 6+ and an iPhone 4. Neither phone would work with the app.
Tried new batteries, deleting app and downloading it again, connect the device, disconnect device, log in log out, cannot get it to work.
The Ryobi website is little to no help. Sent a feedback via app. Still no reply after two weeks.
The Canadian App Store indicates version 1.33.x but keeps giving me 1.32.x.
Overall very disappointed.
Updated review; After waiting for an updated app that had been indicated, after contacting support, everything seems to be working as it should.

Ryobi Phone Works
I bought a set of Ryobi phone works Laer tools made to work with IPhone 6s. Without a doubt the most unreliable set of tools I ever owned for work. Does not pair with you phone. The app can't find the tools most of the time and if it does you don't know when and short lived. Forget the customer support , it's none existent for these tools , and they don't even know what's wrong with the tools they made. It's a total waste of your money.

Hey, what's wrong with it?
This app doesn't work. It is a bit stupid Christmas present for my friend which doesn't work without this app. What next?
Waste of time!
I have never come across an app as useless as this!
Worst name ever, has nothing to do with phones?

Not free
Unless you are prepared to pay to use this app, don't bother downloading it. I'm sure it's great, but it appears to be free when in fact it isn't.
