Embarrassing Performance
I finished a wiring job on a new cabin today and performed some electrical load tests, using the Seek Thermal Compact I bought maybe six years ago for numerous thermal images important to the quality assurance of my work. I was using an iPhone 13, which shouldn't have been an issue. But the Seek Thermal app crashed so many times that I lost count! So if you see a growing chorus of complaints about this app, it might be a good idea to take both notice and corrective actions. Let me see an UPDATE, and MAYBE I'll consider upgrading to a new Seek Thermal Nano.

Solution to make Seek work
I own an original Seek Thermal Compact with Lightning connector and like many of you we’re not only disappointed by the unit no longer working on newer iPhones but the lack of support by the company. I have finally found a workaround to get the unit working on my iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 18.1.
Go into your iOS System Settings for the app and turn-off “Cellular Data” in the settings. These are the settings in the System Settings, not within the app software. Now after launching the app I can plugin my Seek Camera and it is recognized again.

Works fine for me
I don’t understand the angry 1 star reviews.
Yeah there is a learning curve with the SW but it’s not hard to figure out by either looking online or just experimenting. It takes pictures and videos and has a choice of color palettes. (I like the grey scale because it’s easy to interpolate in post processing)
Note I’m an experimental physicist / electrical engineer and have owned several versions of these cameras. Currently using the CompactPRO.

Abandoned
App has been abandoned. Doesn’t support my perfectly functional camera anymore. Iphone 11, ios 17 (and 16 and 15 for that matter)
What an expensive lump of trash to hang off the bottom of your phone.
I’ve been waiting for 5 years to buy a thermal imaging device for my iPhone. I chose the CompactXR. The videos and advertisements for it made it seem to be exactly what I was looking for. What I got is a loud clicking, pixilated screen that is very hard to focus and even harder to be able to see clearly what’s infront of you. Tbh I should have went with the cheap Klein Tools thermal imager and saved my self a couple hundred dollars. What a disappointment and a sham.

Developer unresponsive to bug reports; has not been updated
First, developer was unresponsive to reported bugs in the app. I was told “You can use our SDK”. However, this device is sold a as turn-key. Not as a dev kit. And it does not do what their marketing literature says.
Second, the last update has been committed 2 years ago now. It appears to have been abandoned. I regret buying their hardware, despite the specs, because support and software development appears to be nonexistent.

Works great on iPhone 12 mini
No issues with the app using a CompactPro with my 12 mini.
Just a cheap toy
I had better expectations. The camera is cheap. Uses a lot of resources and updates slow. Resolution is almost nothing. There is no way to overlay standard camera images onto the thermal image making it impossible to understand what your looking at. There is no way to adjust the intensity. If you need fine tuning to pinpoint a hot spot the image is all hot. This is just a expensive toy.

Not bad
If you are a cheapskate expecting a camera with a $1000 result, you will be disappointed. If you want a basic ir camera for figuring out heat loss in a house, doing basic temperature measurements, or just having fun - it’s a decent camera. The app isn’t bad either, but image quality is better in the black and white modes vs the spectra modes. Spend more money if you want more, but for a lower end product, this is worth the money for nonprofessional applications.
