  • Fun game!

The first time I tried this game, I didn't like it. Then I gave it another chance and this time, with a more open mind, I enjoyed it. The pixel art definitely took some getting used to and the slow movement was frustrating at times (I took off a point for this), but once I settled in, I found it to be a good game with a fun atmosphere (spooky but not too horrific - the pixel art keeps it light), and definitely entertaining with puzzles that were fun to solve. Now I'm off to buy the next chapters after reading a review that said the slow movement had been addressed. It might not be in my top five (Gabriel Knight from the same developers is better) but it's definitely worth playing.

Update: I paid the $3.99 and got the other chapters. The game just kept getting better and better! All in all, a very good and satisfying game.
  • A great game!

I honestly love this game so much. The graphics and the music are probably what I like the most about it, as they're very beautiful. I was wary about spending money because I try to avoid doing that on apps, but it was definitely worth the money.
  • Artistic game

This is a very thoughtfully done game. Engrossing and spooky without being over the top. It crashes a little bit after the most recent fix, and the sound mixing cuts out some times. But overall well worth the price.
  • Awesome retro pixel game

Before this game was crashing a lot on episode 2 but it has been fixed! Nice! I highly recommend this game! Just try playing episode 1 it's free. But be warned once you start playing you will be hooked! The other episodes are not free but it's worth it. Keep up the good work guys!
  • Great Game!

Pretty creepy for a pixel horror game. Great atmosphere, excellent story, fantastic mystery. The puzzles are challenging and make you think without being difficult to the point of being frustrating. Very cool throw back game in the vein of the original point and click Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, Loom, and other old school Lucas Arts adventure games. Free episode is good, the other 3 episodes are well worth the buy. And I don't often think that!
  • How do they do it?

Please someone explain to me how a game with some of the most basic graphics, reminding me of 1200 baud modems, can pull you in so well?!? I will be honest, I had a hard time getting a grasp on things (I mean who the heck can tell that one light colored pixel is actually a piece of paper on the floor??) - but once you dive in, you won't put it down. Thrilled it was free to try, I mean really TRY - not just a watered down version but a full episode you can play to the end. Yup, then you are compelled to buy - and OMG there is a Season 2!!! I don't review games often, not many make me nostalgic for the 80's - actually make me think about what I am doing - and really creep me out like The Last Door (cats mewling in the walls, and creepy sick people hacking up a lung - oh don't forget all of the blood, flogging and death surrounding you). Great job, can't wait to finish it and move to Season 2.
  • Absolutely stunning.

This game is beautiful. If you have any love for horror stories or dark fantasy, play this immediately. The atmosphere is oppressive and creepy, and the mythology is original and haunting. These tiny pixels on a screen scared me more than most horror movies or books. It reminds me very much of Ben Croshaw's Chzo Mythos games. It's that good. The first episode is a pretty straightforward Poe-type story, but it gets more and more bizarre and surreal as the episodes go on. Now I'm just afraid that I won't enjoy playing other games after having played this. It's truly special.
  • A must own!

This game is excellent. From the story to the audio and visual design it does not disappoint. "The Last Door" is a mystery, horror game that brings back the classic style of point and click adventure games of the early 90's era PC games. This game is not one to pass up especially for the excellent low price. Buy it and thank me later.
  • How Unfortunate

    I adored this game when I once had it. The music, the graphics, the plot-line... It had an overall melancholic aura. Not quite inching toward horror, more so an eerie tragedy. But, before I could further purchase, something came up and I was delayed and had to delete the game. Now, I wish to play through the whole story finally and it is stuck on the loading screen! Seeing as though others speak of this, I do hope you fix it soon... Please. ;-;
  • Classic Point-and-Click, Still Scary

The Last Door has everything one needs to kill time, an intriguing plot, challenging puzzles, enticing psychological horror, and a convenient autosave feature to pick it up where you left off. The score is superb, it really adds to the oppressive atmospheres throughout the four chapters. Absolutely worth it, even though by now I can't remember how much it costs due to the challenge it provides!
