  • Not great for a complete beginner

I’m a complete beginner. The lessons start well and then progress so quickly. It’s difficult to follow, I can’t see finger placement and the beginners songs are REALLY difficult. Fast and multiple chord changes with complicated strumming patterns. If you can already play I think this will be ok. But not for me.

  • Perfect ten

I have been trying to learn the guitar for 15 years now. I am on my first month of playing and I already know four songs I have learned more in one month than I learned the entire 15 years of playing. I highly recommend this program if you were to pay someone to give you lessons, they would charge you $30 for an hour, then that’s only for one hour. This you get unlimited everything for 20 bucks they don’t move too fast and you can slow down the speed of the lecture. I figured out how to print off the tabs so I can practice it even when I’m not online I have so much practicing to do before. I can move forward with the next lesson because that’s how much we have covered in about three weeks I can’t keep up with these guys and I don’t have to go. Let me go at my own pace. I am confident that I will be playing the guitar in no time thank you guitar tricks.

  • Great content

I’m a beginner but, so far, the content looks really great. If I have one thing to point out is that the “play along” functionality could use some love. On my phone I can’t slow the video down and, on my tablet, I can but then the tabs won’t scroll. Also the sound degrades a lot.
  • This is the only one that worked for me

Ive tried to self teach my self electric guitar 4 times and i always put it down and get aggravated. Until i found guitar tricks that is. Ive been playing 21 days now and i am actually remembering the things they teach on there. So it feels way more natural to play and i actually feel like im making momentum and maintaining traction with this. Cant complain about a thing. Im able to fully learn and remember a chord in less than an hour. Its not clean but i dont forget them. Thats hasnt happened any other way that ive tried. Very happy!

  • Straightforward Review

First thing is, it’s a pretty good application. I was just browsing when I found out a comparison between Fender Play which I had against Guitar Tricks and Jam Something. I was astounded what Guitar Tricks was rated to. I signed up for free and I realized Fender Play wasn’t something right for me even I was a beginner. It was kind of expensive though and I hated the Guitar Tricks old interface. But when I saw the instructors who don’t hate making videos like the ones on the Fender Play it was awesome and the amount of knowledge I gained in 2 months really is worth. Even the guitar fundamentals are beyond expectations that even my friend who has been playing for years doesn’t know. Some of the reviews definitely mention that it has some issues with the password and stuff. I had that too but here I’m rating about the content and the application usability. For any issues, I call them directly and they get my account fixed.

  • Great content, disappointing app

There is a lot of great content here, I really enjoy the lessons. There is a lot to explore. However, the app is disappointing. If you are in full screen video (as you often are on ipad) and leave either by accident or for another app, the video controls disappear and you have to close the app. There is no way to move forward are back in a lesson without leaving the full screen app. The controls, especially the slider to move within a lesson, are too close to the app switcher bar. There are many other frustrations. The website is good but does not work well in ipad safari. I like having the ipad on a music stand but it gets frustrating.

  • 5 Stars

This is a great App for everyone not just beginners. The more I use it, the more functions I find. The instructors are first class.

    Well worth the expenditure
  • Impressed

Learning guitar has been one big goal of mine since I was a kid. I went through atleast 3 phases of trying to learn and it never worked out. I’d learn some riffs and that’s about it. In person lessons always felt very pressured to master something in about a weeks span. I finally decided to give it another try but the right way. In my first week of guitar tricks I’ve learned more than I ever have, and I feel like I’m learning it in the right steps. Overall impressed with the quality and price of this

  • Cluttered

I still feel that the App is too cluttered and difficult to follow. Also I feel that the guitarists doing the lessons need to slow down. They appear to rush things which is not good for someone who is learning the guitar
