Leave a Review Contraction Timer
Great app
Easy to useEasy to use
It’s a bit odd reviewing an app while in labour but will give it a try. Easy to use, nice interface. A background banner (like google maps or phone calls) that keeps it on screen would make going back into the app quicker and easier - maybe consider for updates.Great app, bu add some extras?
The app is great. The whole screen is tapable so it doesn’t matter if you’re looking at it or not, you can stop the timer easily enough.
The only thing I may add is a few articles about contractions and how to tell the difference between them and Braxton Hicks. And when to call the hospital/ambulance.
Also, this is more with Apple than the app itself - you have to physically go into it to start the timer. So if you’re trying to keep an eye on any tightenings you’re having (which I’m having to do) you will either need to have this app open at all times and not use your phone for anything else, or open the app while the tightenings is happening.
Apple need to get an option to use these type of apps easily with a click outside the appShow lessGreat for early stages of labour
I used this to monitor how close contractions were to help when to know when to go to hospital. Very easy to use and very helpful. I used it on my iPad could be better if the slider bar for deciding strength of contraction wasn’t so close to the bottom of the screen as it often brought up the menu and allowed you to touch to change choice not just drag. Super app though.Show lessAwesome timer
So easy to use. Can delete times if needed. Would definitely recommend 😊So handy!
In labour right now and wow this makes it so much easier to track! Super easy since you can click anywhere on the screen! THANKYOUGood app, very easy
Went into labour on Sunday and delivered on Thursday. Very easy to use and review for contractions. Got a bit difficult to keep putting intensity in each time as things got close, would benefit from intensity memory used automatically for the next contraction, but overall was great for a free app. Thanks very much.Show lessEasy to use but bright
I like that you can edit easily, clear the data for false alarms, see easily the time in between contractions. The graphs are helpful. I like that you can tap anywhere in the screen to stop the counter. It is easy to figure out and navigate, especially when’s contraction hits. I wish it had a dark setting to use in the night. The white background isn’t pleasant.Show lessEasy to use but colour scheme unhelpful
If you are in labour, as I currently am, I would find a more muted soft colour eg yellow or lilac to be more contraction friendly!
It is well proven clinically that different colours impact the brain differently, and the role of cognition in labour and delivery is significant.
Too much cortisol and adrenaline hormones can be counterproductive, and can increase pain significantly, whereas oxytocin and endorphins make contractions more effective as well as more comfortable. These important considerations need to be factored in.
Lose the bright red screens. Maybe even consider rewording “intense” to “powerful”.
It’s important for the body to get the right signals to “go with” the contractions rather than fear them, or fight against them. They are not something that “happens to” a woman in labour, they quite literally ARE the woman in labour, incrementally building the exit for baby’s special arrival into the world. This app is a real opportunity to empower mothers and should reflect that goal.
Best wishes all. Emma, London.Show lessEasy and love it
Very easy to use and can customise as well as continue. Just what I need as sometimes can't get to phone on time and all I need to do is add the time and duration etc. Makes it more accurate.
