All of a Sudden

I've had spectrum for two years, and my family has used it forever. Never had any issues until we were going to switch the account to my husbands. The rep called me, just asked if i was okay with him having an account and then shut down my internet without clarifying what was going to happen. I was going to have no internet for 3 weeks but still be expected to pay the bill? They shut off my internet completely, despite my husband telling them he didn't want to activate an account? when i called back to get it situated they were going to up my monthly by $20 and then charge me a $30 service fee, all while passing me back and forth between billing and sales. when i finally got ahold of a "Lead" he told me that everything i knew about the process was wrong. next my bill said $66 and then was overdue and i called back bc the dates weren't matching up and the lady said it should be fine and to let it rollover to the next cycle. And of course today i log in because my internet isn't working with a bill of $180. Not to mention the payment didn't go through because my payment method was our checking account and now the app is saying they don't support that? This whole company is a disaster. I want my money back and to be rid of this. Absolutely ridiculous.

Two factor!

This is an update to my review below, I signed in to the app today and it asked me to verify that it was me but I don’t believe this is two factor. So maybe I was wrong about the two factor being present but we really need this security feature. I just signed in on the browser and I did not need to verify my identity. I wish my spectrum had two factor because I don’t feel safe and secure that someone isn’t hacking into my service because devices on my network are not working properly. Also why am I unable to remove a device from my network? I can pause it but I can’t remove it. And this has happened before but it was resolved, the button was there to remove a device but now it’s gone again. Other than these two issues the app is great.

“What happened to two factor? About a week ago I was able to use two factor, it seemed to come out if no where but I was so happy you all finally implemented some higher security because my TV and camera have both been hacked then an update happened I guess and now the two factor is gone. Can you please bring it back? Also when I I turn off my internet at night and then turn it back on my camera is taking longer to reconnect.”

App Issues

I think that you will do a wonderful job constantly thinking about ways to make it easy for us to view our statements, and Pay our bills, view all of our nook and crannies to what we pay for. I do notice some app glitches here in there. I think that is something you guys should continue to analyze and work on. For example, sometimes I have to constantly login even though I have given the app the option of auto logging in. Another issue is it freezes on the screen right before logging in and it never logs in at all. I end up having to delete the app and re-download it so that they can work semi properly again. I do think that your prices are a tad high. At least give your customers a little bit of a discount every so often when it comes to the Internet or lower your prices a little. The part I’m not very happy with is you have to pay more money in order to get an Internet that works well with the amount of devices you have to log into. If you have too many devices in your system, the Internet works very poorly. I have a feeling this is the way you “encourage“ people to upgrade their services. thank you for taking the time to read my honest review.

Auto Payment

Spectrum is the ONLY bill collector that will NOT let you set up your OWN date to pay your monthly statement! It's ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! Be late to those setting up with them. If you want to use them, great! But they not only just set my payment date for the 25th and left it as so without letting me change it from the beginning, they screwed me over so bad with my experience on getting set up with them. Because of THEIR mess up, I have been paying a ridiculous amount and we are extremely low income. I've tried to deal or bargain and even BEG with them, but no budge. I want to switch to Verizon so I can bundle with their service which is WAY cheaper, but the service in my area is spotty. Their customer service is lame as well, and they are the kind of people you speak to that literally hater their jobs. So, I'm stuck with horrible customer service and experience and overall rudeness, INSANE monthly bill on which I COMPLETELY got duped into a much better deal only to be taken away 4 months later because they f'd up, can't change (not was I even able to when I signed up (because it's the date of the month you do sign up) my auto pay date AT ALL, oh, and did I mention rude? Don't join with them before you REALLY dig deep and do your homework before agreeing to a single thing with them.

World Class

When I was shopping around for internet I was approached by a gentleman in Walmart and he was very knowledgeable as well as respectful concerning my current situation. Then after meeting with him I decided to call Spectrum directly just to verify all the information provided was correct. The sales person for Spectrum was kind at first; however, when I notified her that I had previously spoke with the representative at Walmart first, and that I felt he should get my commission, she hung up on me. I was very disappointed and disheartened by the situation. If it wasn’t for the first representative I would’ve never gave my business to Spectrum. Anthony, the first representative in Walmart, was very knowledgeable, kind, and professional. Then, Spectrum redeemed itself by sending out Keith, another kind, motivated, respectful, knowledgeable, what can I do to help representative. I was impressed, so impressed I personally sent him a thank you in regards to the professionalism he portrayed. I am grateful for both, Anthony and Keith, you both are the reason I am doing business with Spectrum. I would also like to thank Spectrum for the speed and reliability of your service. I depend upon it. Keep up the great work and better coach those that may need help. A very satisfied customer…VJ

My Review:

Great to use if you use spectrum. It is easy to use and I recommend it if you use spectrum.

Version 11 was superior. This app is really just the website.

Since the Version 12 overhaul I have deleted the app from my phone because it is no different than using mobile website now. If you just save the login page bookmark to your phone’s desktop, it’s the same thing. The only difference I saw was the option to use Biometrics to log in on the app, but that doesn’t count because it didn’t work. It either got stuck or still required a password.

So Version 12 of the app is basically the mobile website, just as cluttered with ads. Feels like a cheap downgrade from the previous version. Version 11 was much sleeker and more intuitive and user-friendly, something worth keeping on my phone. But it seems Spectrum decided to cut costs on our app while raising rates on us again.

By the way, I’d be surprised if anyone saw this APP review because the APP store needs to do a better job of filtering out reviews that are for the company and have nothing to do with the APP. You guys, please review the company on another platform please; THESE APP STORE REVIEWS ARE FOR THE APP not the company! It’s annoying for other users to have to sift through dozens upon dozens of company reviews just for information about an app while trying to determine whether or not to download or upgrade to the new version 🙄

Don’t Call

I lost my debit card so I called to make a one time payment with my checking account. I was told it would go through with you in two hours. I didn’t want to have a late payment and I was going out of town. Four days later I get notification my debit card doesn’t work, they failed to put the check account payment through and when I called the gentleman was so vague with me and not get it what he does that I told him when I got home and got my new debit card. I would pay my bill. I was very frustrated not taking it out on him until he turned around knowing I’m frustrated and tried to upgrade my service. They basically messed up big time and he was more concerned about upgrading my service and selling me home security. At this point, I told him I was going to hang up on him because at this point, yes it would’ve got not so pretty, long story short, take care of your stuff online.

The best service, equipment, hardware and software around

like many people, I shop around for my Internet and TV services and have used all the major providers in my region except google. By far, Verizon has been the best. They don’t have the newest fiber optic cable, but the difference with large diameter coax is a minimal, if any. Paragraph they offered me a combined price 25% below the other best offers in the region, they scheduled the install within 24 hours, the technician was excellent, personable, well informed, and helpful. The modem I got was twice as fast as what I need now so it will grow with future demands, I did not need a router as I have the number one mesh router system already in my large multi level house and I got a free cell phone for a year which saves me $250 on top of the $250yearly savings from the price of service for Internet combined with TV. Paragraph I would highly recommend them and see no major problems or really any minor ones.
