Awesome for the Prius!

We own a 2020 AWD-e XLE Prius. There are some annoying features with the car: backup beeping, overly sensitive and too loud parking sonar sensors, and front parking sensor that keeps beeping when you’re going through an automatic car wash.

Bought Carista and was able to easily fix all these issues. You do have to subscribe for at least a month to make the changes. But you only need to subscribe to make new changes — once made, they stick. So in theory you just need to do a one time, one month subscription. Totally worth it.

Best value OBD on market.

Tried a number of OBD devices and software and this is without doubt the best value. Even more expensive hardware although available with “free” app requires subscription whereas this doesn’t. Great with VW and Škoda. Only complaint is that only has minimal features for Smart cars and no customisation features like it does on VW cars. Shame as I would otherwise take up lifetime subscription. Highly recommended.

It’s ok.

It’s ok- I’ve use this on a BMW 520d. There is just not enough options for BMW for £31 a year. £31 is expensive. A DPF regen option would be a great for BMW and the live date should be able to access BMW. (I have free car scanner that can do it) My biggest issue is that I’ve toggled (on and off) an Air Conditioning option within the customize section on the app. I’ve now inadvertently turned off my air condition system and it will not turn back on. I have contacted Carista but with little help or assistance.

Useless with a TPMS on a prius.

Same message for months of trying multiple parts of the app. Get a message under TIre Pressure that says “ECU Not Found”. It also says this about airbags, seatbelts, A/C, window control units.. After $60 in purchases my problems are left unanswered. Toyota wants to replace all 4 sensors and computer for 1300$, even though they NEVER hooked a machine to it. Very frustrating.
As for mods to the car, the change from multiple beeps to 1 beep was a HUGE deal for me

Great app, saved me a trip to the dealer

This app has been great for me as an Audi owner. Many customizations duplicate what can be done with the MMI, but access to the instrument cluster needle sweep and window/sunroof customizations are worth the price.

The real value comes from the ability to read OBD II codes and engine faults. It let me know whether the engine light indicated something serious, and saved me an expensive trip to the auto repair shop for a diagnosis.

As an infrequent user, there’s no need to subscribe for a year and I don’t know why people complain about the price. I pay for one month when I need the paid features. Easy!

Toyota 4Runner success

Worked perfectly to change the default settings for seatbelt chime and blinker volume.

It’s an impressive scam

What they don’t tell you when you buy the physical hardware is that a yearly subscription is $67. Not sure why they think that their app is worth that much, when there are many other better and cheaper products out there. For that price you might as well buy OBDeleven, instead of a knockoff version like Carista. Would not recommend, as the scanner is basically useless without paying for the subscription. I’m mostly disappointed in myself, since they tricked me into buying their expensive product. That part was well done.

Works for what I want but an expensive service

Got a new job much closer to home so now I’m only really doing ~10 minute trips in my TDI. So I got this app to monitor DPF load and force a regen when I know I’m on a slightly longer trip.
First time I was a bit alarmed as it threw up a few warning lights on the dash, but successful regen and then they disappeared, so I find it useful.
That being said, the subscription cost for what you get is way too high in my opinion.

Too expensive for what you get

Title says it all.
$39 for the device and $40 for the subscription.
Check the website and see if your car is supported BEFORE you buy. They make the website look like your car is supported and after you buy..... oh no it’s not. $80 on something I can’t even use. BEWARE

Fantastic APP and tech support

Having purchased the Carista OBD2 and plugging it into my Audi RS5 Cabriolet then connecting via the Bluetooth Carista APP I was able to enable some great custom features. After emailing tech support with a few teething tech questions everything I wanted is working great.
Fantastic tech support !! 10 out of 10
