Problematic for offline courses

The courses are pretty good, and their function within the app is fine.

However, there are serious issues if you don’t have an ever present internet connection. I downloaded courses to be able to use Udemy while flying. The app requires constant logins through a janky interface that kicks you back and forth between authentication, login pages, and so on. So just getting logged in is problematic. Then, once you’ve made it, if you login right before losing your internet connection, it may last and you can resume your course - for a while. But wait too long or use too many other apps, and you’ll find that Udemy has randomly decided it’s time for you to reauthenticate. Middle of a video? Sorry, you’ll now be waiting till you can reconnect.

I contacted support about the issue and was told this was by design. That’s nuts, and it defeats the point of downloading a course for offline use. If it was an occasional login, sure, maybe I could buy off on it. But it’s frequent and makes it such a hassle to use Udemy that I’ve started to look at other options, like LinkedIn Learning.

Unfortunately, until the login issues are fixed, this one gets a low rating from me.

Login issues

Unable to login on mobile app, same credentials work ok on web browser
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling app on mobile with no success

Bad for offline learning

I have downloaded the app to do offline trainings, but half of time that does not work properly. Two main errors: lessons can’t be played (even though they’re downloaded on my phone!), videos play correctly, but the completed lesson is not stored.

What happened?

This all used to work fine. Logging in is now buggy, my courses don’t even appear anymore and the courses library loads before crashing and kicking me out of my account. Please fix this!

Usually a great app but REALLY buggy right now

Regardless of what I do the app won’t allow me to actually use my account. It keeps logging me out and not allowing me to go to the actual app interface (as opposed to the web interface) when I log in.

It won’t allow me to enrol in any courses either.

Please fix whatever is going on.

Terrible Support and Service

Terrible absolutely tiny brain app requires you to log in with udemy account but most users sign up through their University and do not have a udemy account. You can not access the content from the internet on your phone as it redirects you to an half thought out app. I wish I was not forced to use this stinker of an app. On top of that I was meant with no number or email to easily find help. I was meant to save time not waste it boo Udemy.

SSO works poorly

Sign in not working

Its giving error organization name is incorrect for the correct name as well. Buggy useless app not able to get into application. I am able to use account on website but application is not useful.
Please correct sign in flow

The in- app udemy course reviews have become worthless

So many pointless reviews for Udemy courses where people are literally saying “seems good so far “ , “pretty good but just started” , “don’t know yet” . Please delete these , they don’t add any value to people looking for their next course.
Clearly these instances are people getting review popups who didn’t seek out to leave a review themselves. Its now become impossible now to find good courses from all the rest …
Please stop prompting people to review a course , until they are more than 50% through it….
This Apple app review is the only place I could even find to provide this feedback…
