LOVE Udemy. Don’t Like The App

First and foremost, I swear by Udemy courses and I’m appreciative that I’m able to obtain free courses through my city library. With that being said, this app is SEVERELY lacking. Below are the issues I experience on a daily basis:

1. I’m CONSTANTLY having to login multiple times throughout the day. Having to manually search for my library, enter my ID, then login to my actual Udemy account. This works one the first time about 70% of the time.
2. I’m unable to rotate my phone sideways and view videos in landscape mode on my iPhone. Makes it hard to see when I want to be hands free while working out.
3. On my iPad, I can view in landscape mode but there’s no AirPlay option lol.

I would love to have some resemblance of uniformity/consistency across my Apple devices!!

Download not working

Download not working, cancel/ pause automatically. Tried all combination of settings in device, poor quality app!

Won’t find library

When it comes to the part to sign in it won’t find my library.

Courses and videos are great but app is terrible

The app is terrible
You have to go through a lengthy log in process each time where you find the corporation or library you are logging in through, type in their identification to login, then login again to your udemy account. This is all done through a redirection via your phone browser and over half the time the app still won’t work after

Good Content, Bad App Experience

While the courses offered and their quality are great so far, the actual app leaves much to be desired. One major issue is that the app requires users to log in every time it is closed, which can be frustrating. Additionally, the login process opens a browser session within the app, but does not automatically close it after logging in, forcing users to manually close the browser and log in again. Another feature that is missing is the ability to lock the screen and continue listening to the course while on a walk or doing other activities. Finally, it would be helpful to have a feature that allows users to easily save a course without having to add it to a pathway and click multiple times before it's actually saved somewhere.

Great content, needs UX work

I love the app overall. I am fortunate to have access through my library. But the login process every time I use the app is a pain. I’m not sure why I have to enter so much information every time. Other than that I love the content.

Never works

Despite trying this app on numerous devices, I have never been able to access a single course. It’s very disappointing because it isn’t always practical to log onto the desktop version.

Obnoxious

Lots of problems with this app, but for me the worst is a modal dialog asking to enable notifications. It’s non-standard, has a guilt-tripping and very misleading title (“Continue your learning journey”), and the only options are “Maybe Later” and “Yes”. With no option to say “Don’t ask me again”, it appears on every launch. Such a shame.

Authentication issues make this app useless

Each time I use the app I’m forced to sign in, a process that I do successfully, but which then takes me to a browser inside the app instead of the native app itself. Usually the third time I log in I’m able to access the full app itself. This happens every single day, or multiple times a day if I switch to a different app for long enough.
