Love this game!!!!

This is one of the best games ever! 👍

Awesome point and click adventure

I love being able to play these top notch adventure titles on my iPad. Great difficulty setting, got stuck in a few places but only temporarily. Music is awesome, tracks were running through my head for days afterwards.

Needs update

Very slow and choppy gameplay running on m1 ipad. I would not consider buying the chapters unless this is fixed.

Excellent

Absolutely superb game in every way. Can’t believe anyone would moan about price when it’s so cheap! So much effort goes into making games to give joy for others who just don’t appreciate it, it’s shameful. I loved every minute, worth every penny and more.

BLACK SCREEN

This series is one of my favorites that I have on DVD: however, it will download and show the menu, then is goes completely Black with sound.

Very buggy

Great classic game and a good port with new graphics and voice acting. However, it seems like the app is in need of an update as it has quite a few bugs. Firstly it has no sound unless I connect my Bluetooth headphones. Not possible to get sound out of my iPad for some reason. It will also freeze every time you exit the app and re-open it. You need to force close the app and relaunch the entire thing to make it work - which also means needing to save constantly otherwise you will lose progress.

Beware of these issues before buying. Would be 5 stars if these issues were addressed in a new update.

Unable to progress because of a bug!!

PLEASE PLAY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! See last point.

The story is really engaging and very interesting. I also liked the new graphics even though I had never played the original game. The music is also quite good and fits the game really well.

With all that said there are several issues with this remaster. The UI is really cumbersome and can be annoying at times. I don’t like the way you pick objects (select object on inventory, close inventory, tap on object to use it with and then use it). As actions happen with one tap I end up getting things wrong by mistake. Specially when trying to dismissing the object menu. If you tap on an exit by mistake to dismiss it you will leave the room. However, you will eventually get used to it.

The worst - the game is plagued with bugs:
- Had a few issues issues like characters going through things or not doing their expect animation. These are ok as they don’t ruin the experience that much.
- On my iPad Pro 2020 the game freezes every time I leave the app and return to it. The only solution is kill to it, open it again and resume the last save.
- I got stuck without being able to proceed at all. I didn’t get a location on the map (Gedde’s Mansion). The only solution was to load an older save game and do everything again from the previous day. This made me waste so much time. I though I couldn’t figure out the solution and only when I checked the walkthrough I figured out it was a bug and not my fault.

Fun to play an old classic

Loved Gabriel Knight when I played it in the 90s. This is a pretty good update. Got me hooked.

Didn’t mind the voice acting unlike some reviews.

Biggest problem was the zombies in the snake mound. Very glitchy. Very frustrating. But I lucked through it once.

Overall fun, good game.

Cannot get past the voice acting for Gabriel

Played the original version of this on my pc many moons ago and loved it so I thought I’d give this one a try. All I can say is was Gabriel such a revolting sleaze in the first game? I remember him as being borderline sometimes, but mostly a decent and likeable character - maybe it was how Tim Curry voiced the character, maybe changes in dialog - IDK. What I do know is I absolutely cannot stand him or the slimey way he is voiced in this version - only made it a few scenes in and could not take it anymore. Other voice acting as far as I got seemed fine. Great game but I cannot recommend this version - get the original from GOG and play that.

A classic remastered

Beautifully done, I played the original but all puzzles seem new to since so much time has passed. Hope they continue the series.
