Update
Used to be good
A little slow
The tracking can be a little bit behind where the bus actually is. Also after the new update I can not switch between two apps. The screen goes black if I go into another app and try to go back into this app. I have to completely close the app and reopen it.
No Longer Works & After All of the Horrible Reviews There’s Still No Update Almost a Year Later?!?
Our district decided to use this app regardless of the horrible reviews shown by users. We are severely short staffed with drivers which was the reason for using the app. It isn’t accurate for bus stop pickups. We might as well continue calling and stressing out the transportation dept by flooding them with more calls each day since this app isn’t efficient and causes parents more stress and worry. Please LCISD, let’s try something that actually works for the 25/26 school year as this app has been an epic failure for 24/25. The developers don’t listen to their bad reviews otherwise, the issues wouldn’t go on for several years as documented here.

Terrible app
I’d give zero stars if I could. I love the idea of what this app should accomplish but More than half the time the app doesn’t even work. Like It logs you out and It won’t let you log back in at all. Strangely, this morning It actually let me log in after several attempts and shows the map but It says no student found and has no active route. I have had the school call me three different times because the bus was “trying to drop off my student and I’m not there to get them” because the app said they would be arrive 45 minutes later than the time they actually did. I understand there will be a slight delay in what’s shown on the app for their actual location but for the estimated arrival and drop off to be off THAT much is ridiculous. They need to fix the issues so we can actually trust what It says.

Not ready for prime time
The school district decided to change apps/systems and go with this one. I wish they didn’t. The location of the bus lags considerably. This is particularly important if your child has a longer walk to the bus stop. And the scan notice that lets you know your child is safely on the bus lags as well - the map will show the bus passing your child’s stop seemingly alerting the parent that your child did not get on the bus when they actually did. At times, the bus has reached the school before you are alerted that your child did get on the bus. Lastly, once the app reports the scan, the notice overlaps with other verbiage that makes it difficult to read.

Another week
Recently, moved to Dakota County and were glad that they had a bus tracker app, but the first day the app was not working. It keeps saying no students are found. I have two kids. One is in elementary. The second, in high school. I have reached out to the transportation tech team about this issue, but now reading the reviews from parents, it looks like this app isn't great. Before moving to the new school district, My children used the bus zone app, and it worked great. Unfortunately, it looks like we are stuck with this bad app. I suggest bringing this issue to a meeting with the school district and perhaps hearing our frustration they, will be able to use a different app.

Decent
I would give it five but there are some setbacks:
1: this app hasnt been updated for a long time
2: the screen doesnt fit all phones.

Good but… something to think about…
So far it’s pretty good. But when the bus is going to be 30min-1hr late the maybe the app should correlate that information. The whole time it said my kids bus would be on time today but that was not cast as they loaded bus more than 40 minutes late and the map also now will not show where her bus is currently at as it registers it is o time. App should work with bus transportation systems to reflect correct times even when they late picking up students. No point in bus tracking if we can’t track it when they are not on to get kids from school to drop off. Just a suggestion.

Useless for the most part
If I had not been familiar with a similar app from a different school district I’d give it 2 stars, but since I know there’s a better way I can barely give it 1 star. The GPS is delayed significantly. Many times it shows the bus on a route sitting and updates the arrival time to later than intended. The lag time has increased this school year. I don’t believe it’s been close to accurate at all. I’ve checked my children’s location by their cell phone to see if the bus has indeed arrived and their cell phones show them out the neighborhood but the Vst My Stop app shows that the bus has not arrived yet. The app doesn’t seem to be capable to send notifications or show the bus location, making it useless. The only thing it does show is the bus number that I tend to forget, so there’s the 1 star.

Fails when bus runs multiple routes
The gps tracking lags a lot but seems reasonably accurate. That said if your planning on when to walk out the door or see the app show the bus coming round the corner in sync with real life you will be disappointed.
For me the app fails when bus drivers are short and our bus is running multiple routes. The bus can look like it’s coming to our neighborhood but instead skips it and drives to the school. (It has to drop off the other routes kids before it can come back and run our route). The app says the bus has passed our stop. That’s not technically wrong, but it’s also what it says when it does run our route and has already hit our bus stop. At the same time the app will tell you the bus is running on time and has our route highlighted. Completely misleads you to think the bus has already come.
Situations like this are maybe not obvious during development of an app, but completely solvable if you understand the issue. The fact that this is a mature app and this isn’t solved is my low rating.
