It's no Goblin Sword but...
...it's certainly worth a purchase if you enjoyed that game. Like Goblin Sword this is a traditional action platformer in the classic style.
Double jumping, hacking away at monsters and finding secrets behind hidden walls are the order of the day in both games however, Goblin Sword does everything you will find in Xolan much better and has been supported by the developer with fantastic free updates long after launch (Xolan appears to be in the same state as launch as of now, which is fine since there's more than enough for your money already here).
The upgrade cards here don't add nearly as much depth as GS's numerous weapons and relics and the level design is weaker in general.
Taken as it is without all these GS comparisons Xolan is a fine mobile platformer with nice graphics, ok sound & music and enjoyable gameplay. If you enjoyed GS or are just looking for a decent action platformer to play Xolan is a great choice!Show lessDenzil2000

I can't believe how cheap this is. Quality game and some really nice graphics and physics. Ability to reposition controls is genius and it really gives you a sense of the old 80s games like g&g etc. Fab.Chemicals brother

Great platformer
The game took me a solid day to complete. The graphics are pretty rough, but the game play is a lot of fun. The first world is too easy though.

Solid platformer w/ great controls
This is a fast paced platform game with a simple concept.
My only request, would be a little more depth to the game; although, I still gave five stars because I don't think they are going for depth. It's a simple repeated concept for each stage throughout the game: find 3 caged prisoners and a chest, rinse and repeat. That said, I found myself addicted and ready for the next stage, knowing I'm about to do the exact same thing!
If this game had just a few more RPG elements it would (IMO) be perfect. The only thing it currently has is a random card system which gives you shallow boosts. I'd like to see a character building system, additional weapons and adjustable difficulty (a little too easy). I'm not talking go Baldur's Gate with it, just a little something to give some depth to an already great game that is a little shallow.Show lessThe Real Godly
Really solid action platformer
Currently, it's my most visited game app. Each level is designed with platforms to jump to, caged villagers to unlock, and a treasure chest of gold. Sometimes they're hidden behind a secret passage. Sometimes they're blocked by dumb enemies. The enemies aren't exactly terrifying. That's okay. They do add a touch of challenge but don't keep the game from being impossible to progress. If you lose all your hearts, you have to start over from the beginning of the level.
It doesn't blow my mind but it's so simple and easy to pick up and play a level that it's easy to recommend. It's actually pretty fun too if you're into this type of retro platformer.Show lessDeriBer
Great game but...
Sword of Xolan is great game - one of the best I played on iPhone.
The only issue I have with this game is that the bosses are difficult out of proportion.
It takes hours to defeat a boss. The first boss took me a few hours to defeat it. I got extremely bored but I could live with it. I started fighting with the second boss and I already know that I will get bored to death before I killed him. Playing a game should be fun not getting bored.
This game would easily get 5 stars with a more reasonable difference between game and bosses. As it is, I almost regret I bought it.Show less[Peter.Parker]

Art and sound are great. The controls feel awesome. And the best part is trying to find all the hidden rooms. Very well done game! I only have a couple levels and a boss left. Hope there's a sequel!EyePlayGames
