  • Perfect balance of support

    For the first time I feel committed to a safe, healthy lifestyle change in my eating habits. Daily checkins, food recording and reminders make me accountable. I have access to coaches each day instead of once a week. The videos share helpful information and can be rewatched at any time. Love it!

  • Excellent concept

    It is a human based virtual weight loss/health group that works much better than a straight app without humans. The “app” portion could use some more work but the concept is excellent!
  • Good program/ easy to follow

    I wish that it was easier to figure out calories; there is not always something comparable to what I’ve had to eat. I also wish that food portions were given with the recipes.
    I have done well on this program and lost 23 lbs. I have become more aware of what I eat and enjoy the competition with walking! Weighing myself daily gives me the opportunity to look back on the previous day to evaluate what was not a smart choice in my food selection.
    I have recommended this program to several people I know!

  • App is barely average

    As far as using it to track calories, it does ok. I find it doesn’t sync activity correctly. If you look at year to date weight loss, it uses averages so it appears you’ve lost less (according to my actual numbers I’ve lost 20.7lbs, but the app show 16.4lbs. Same data). When you hit your goal weight, there’s no recognition. Advice is useless. For example, the “Coach” sent me this: “if or when you experience a plateau or temporary weight gain, how have you reacted in the past? What did you do to get yourself back on track?” Ummm. Isn’t it your job to recognize when I’m in a plateau & give me advice on how to get through? The group posts tend to be weird unrelated things, like “share a picture of your pet”. Every. Week. So if you are looking for an app with a helpful coach or real support & advice, keep looking.

  • I wish it were more seamless

    I’ve been using a different food and activity app for many years, I started using this one in addition to the one I am comfortable with and have no issues with because my dr. Suggested it. Along with it being free and a short term commitment and I got a cool scale I decided I’d participate.
    I’m very good at maneuvering through apps In general but this app has a lot of gaps and lacks accuracy in food and activity logs.
    It is not easy to log meals, the health info is what I learned in health class and not life changing, the video recordings are slow and almost painful to sit through and many of them have an annoying “hello” at every pages change.
    I do like the health coach idea, but I mostly get referred to other web sites that may or may not be relevant to my inquiry.
    I’ve been logging for 16 weeks on Brook+, I believe that I gave it a good try but I’m too frustrated to continue, I’m going back to my easy to track app and get my life back.

  • Awful

    I joined this program sponsored by my health insurance. This app is horrible. It is clunky and unreliable. Doesnot accurately read nutrition information when scanning a product. There is no way to manually enter nutrition information. Very hard to find items even close to what you have eaten. Syncing between activity tracker and app is not accurate or lags. The group wall is awful to read from the app. Coach posts are cut off. Video sessions are not providing any information not commonly known. This does not seem like a helpful program at all. I can see someone dropping out of the program due to all of the frustration. I will stick with it because it is free and I like the scale provided. It may give me a little motivation but, overall this app distracts from the programs goals

  • Difficult to log!

    This app make it very difficult to log...anything! It doesn’t have great search features like other food logging apps, it often doesn’t match calories of my other food apps, it crashes if you try to edit something that wasn’t added right when you searched their databse for something close so my counts never seem right! It also seems to arbitrarily add my starting weight (which somehow was wrong but i can’t edit it) every so often so it looks like i’ve been yo-yo’ing this whole time! It’s definitely not an accurate logging tool at all. The other thing is the when my coach types on the wall, I can’t see it! I have to copy and paste the text into notepad so I can read it! The only thing it seems to do right is record my steps and I don’t have a problem manually tracking my water intake but I have other apps for that. I think for this program, you should either have users use a different logging app or allow them to sync to something more well known.

  • Meal logging doesn’t work

    The meal logging is pathetic on this app. Bar code scanning doesn’t work at all, and search doesn’t either. The only way to get logging to work is to type it in on the initial screen and not make any changes or modifications.

    Very frustrating.
  • Meh - I got what I paid for

    As many of the reviews have stated, this app is slow & not user friendly. The health coach portion is good but the food, water, & activity tracking is not. I’m likely going to stop using once my one year commitment to the program is over. I’m also currently tracking in the Fitbit app as well as the SparkPeople app & both are much better than this app.

  • App Will Not Load

    Launches to blank screen, spinning wheel, "please wait" error message.

    If it does finally does launch, says user not found. Website says the same. There is no way to contact the developers that I can find, so hopefully this review will catch their attention.
