Description of ST BLE Sensor

The ST BLE Sensor application is used in conjunction with an ST development board and firmware compatible with the BlueST protocol to give you access to all the sensor data, which you can log to different cloud providers, and to update the board firmware directly from a mobile device via the Bluetooth® Low Energy protocol. After discovery ST development board, the app shows you a list of available demos and you can navigate through them to discover the functionalities of your board. Demos can be related about environmental, cloud, audio, board configuration, machine learning and and many other functionalities. The application is built on top of the BlueST SDK library implementing the BlueST protocol and helps you export the data easily via Bluetooth® Low Energy. The application also supports firmware library algorithms like motion-sensor data fusion, activity recognition and pedometer functionality. Both SDK and application source code are freely available at: https://github.com/STMicroelectronics

Reviews of ST BLE Sensor

  • Basics do not load

To start it says update the firmware so I clicked yes. This was to v349. Had to attempt that 5 times, bricked it, brought it back to life by loading boot. After a few more attempts it updated to v349 successfully.

Following the YouTube videos etc nothing works as described. Example; create app pedometer; press play screen flashes something so fast you can’t read it. Go to connect and all it shows is the original icons and says not available under them.
  • Crashes when you press “connect”

App is now unusable as it crashes when you press the connect button on the first screen. It’s before you ask it to even connect to a device.
  • Unusable with 4.14.5

This app was decent, and worked until this update. Now it crashes when I hit "Connect to a Device". The app can see the devices and can upload firmware, so this might be a permissions issue with this version?
