Excellent app
The previous reviewer did not obviously understand what A440 means! This is an excellent app and definitely beats other tuning fork apps (ie apps that don’t play your note of you have mute on!)
what's it for?
I was hoping to be able to select a note and have the app play it, you know, like selecting a tuning fork and then using it.
It does not do that. You need to know a number and dial it in. It's not clear if the number is a frequency or a wavelength - and the app plays a note - which it calls 'a', whatever sound it makes. The app has no more functionality than that.
There goes 99p and 10 minutes lost forever.

Not what I’d hoped.
I’ve used actual tuning forks for over thirty years. I love tuning using the “beat” from the interference of two frequencies. I now wear hearing aids that can act as Bluetooth ear buds for this and I thought it would be perfect. Unfortunately, the tone is not generated from a high quality recording of an actual fork but by a digital signal generator. The sound is offensive and unusable. Too bad.

Does what it's supposed to
Simple, clean and it works. As someone else said, it would be nice to be able to create favorites or presets, but for free, you can't argue. I would add to the wish list the ability to input a 5 digit frequency.

not a bad app i like being able to use this at night to try out many frequencies i can think of a few things that i would like to see in upcoming updates such as up to 5 tuning forks all programable playing at once being able to save the frequencies for all tuning forks or make your own favorites list with 10 slots for each fork and to change it from a' to any note you want or to leave it blank. but for starters as a tuner not bad but if i want to work with many tuning forks and many frequencies i only get the many frequencies so i can only give it a not bad

The Best Tuning Fork App on the Planet!!!
Well if you need this for tuning instruments then this is more than adequate. I use it for Solfeggio frequencies so the ability to be able to pick and dial up in the app your chosen frequency is absolutely brilliant. This will also be useful for people wishing to tune crystals for healing and many many other applications.
This is the only app of it's kind on the iTunes store with the ability of setting your own frequency, whereas all the other tuning fork apps have set frequencies which are useless to myself.
Bottom line BUY IT!!!

Best Tuning Fork
This is definitely the best tuning fork in the App. Store. Easy to use and very nicely implemented. Now also works on the iPod!

Das Konzept ist einfach, schön und praktisch.
Jede Frequenz ist möglich (auch wenn ich niemanden kenne der über 1000Hz etwas stimmen will - das ist vielleicht etwas übertrieben!).
Man kann die Stimmgabel auch zur Gehörbildung einsetzen :o)
Ansonsten kann ich nur das klare Design loben.
