For such great films, this is a terrible app
Imagine purchasing the rights to a film and being able to watch it once (on the app) and then downloading that same app on several different platforms and not being able to watch that film again.
Good thing I bought the physical copy! The digital copy is stuck in the backrooms somewhere unable to be viewed.
If that’s the policy (that you’re only supposed to be able to watch it once), that should be explicitly stated.

Room for improvement
I haven’t had a ton of problems with the app, but I have not purchased physical media or anything. I did try to stream a movie off the app (iPhone to tv through airplay) and that was a very painful experience. Plus you can’t see any past movie tickets you’ve gotten which I think would be a cool momento.

No Apple TV App?!
I don’t want to have to mess with AirPlay. You’ve had this app up for iOS for a whole year now and still haven’t brought it to Apple TV? What a weird oversight. It shouldn’t be that hard to do this, it’s literally built on the same underlying operating system!
Also, on mobile, it should be possible to download the movie in full to the app so it can be watched in situations where an internet connection isn’t present or fast/reliable enough.

Useless app
So I recently bought the backrooms on physical media and they emailed a digital version of it. I opened the app and the movie keeps on glitching, sometimes there’s no sound, even after restarting the app, deleting and reinstalling it. Nothing. I even tried to AirPlay it to my tv. Everything was going fine until it stopped playing. I gave up afterwards and I’m not the only one that’s experiencing this issue. On top of that, A24 is now using AI to help them to make future projects 🥀

Joke of an app
I’ve had nothing but problems with this app. Free tickets that are almost impossible to redeem, depending on what you’re trying to do. Try to redeem it for one day ended up with a different date completely and couldn’t go. Get text regularly for Free movie streaming on app, but the movie doesn’t have any sound if it even loads properly. I immediately regretted how much money I spent on this app membership that’s over $100 I’ll never get back.

Sound doesn’t work on purchased movies
What’s the point of having early access when the sound doesn’t work? I switched back and forth through commentary and no commentary. Sometimes the commentary would work but the main never works. Very disappointing.
Unusable and frustrating
Upon buying a backrooms blu ray today, I attempted to watch it over on the app and had the WORST experience trying to airplay it onto a TV (despite the app literally telling you it supports the features) the encryption makes it almost impossible to enjoy a movie. Not only that but audio issues are all too common when trying to play a film. Unfortunately a waste of time and you’re better off just getting the physical copies in person, lesson learned. A24 needs to look into this because I’ve seen way too many reviews with the same issues.

Used to love
I had a membership for almost 3 years but cancelled due to A24 partnering with Google AI. Not interested in whatever slop they make in the future.
Purchased content not usable
I have several A24 blu rays bought through their store which come with digital copies in this app. However the copyright protection means that you cannot stream the sound to air pods, Bluetooth headphones or speakers, or literally any other device. Also if you try to AirPlay onto a TV or do screen mirroring the copyright protection also blacks out your screen so you get no video and no sound. I purchased this content and am trying to watch it through the official app on devices that I own. What is this protecting me from? Just an awful and very consumer unfriendly choice made presumably to stop piracy. Thanks to this stupid choice the content I paid for is unusable for me.

Terrible app
I purchased physical media and received a digital copy of the movie. It said I had to use the A24 app in order to watch my digital copy. I created an account on the app and attempted to watch the movie and it will not load. It either goes to a black screen, or it goes to a blurred out screen with the play button over top of the blurred out image. I have tried turning off my iPad and turning it back on, and it is not working. I’ve seen other reviewers say that this app is absolutely terrible. 824 seriously needs to address these issues. They don’t even allow you to download your digital copies to your device so I literally cannot watch this movie. I would give this zero stars if I was able to.

Insanely buggy, works only 1/3 of the time.
App not responding and black out
I tried reinstalling and then logging in. Even though I entered the correct email and password, the proceed button didn’t work. The next time I opened the app, it blacked out again.

Love everything but the fact that the player in the app sucks. At least let us link it to Apple TV so we can watch it on tv without having to use air play.
Love a24 but this app is a little embarrassing
Not being able to airplay in full quality or sound is no good. Plus constantly having sound issues where the audio won’t play and I have to swipe out of the app to try and make the movie play correctly. Overall this app looks good but is functionally really questionable.
Fun app, only had one issue
I’ve been a member periodically for a few years now. It’s a great app for A24 fans and film lovers. I really love the gifts and perks. I’ve also purchased some merch. I only had one issue recently. I had a few family members sign up on the app to receive a few free months. I forgot one of these family members (months ago) had given me their card to use as payment. They cancelled their A24 account in Dec but were charged for the membership last month. We forget their card was attached to my account. Long story short, A24 customer service saw the card was attached to me and took liberty to cancel my account and without consulting me for a payment. My account was cancelled and my money based credit that had built up on my account was gone. I re opened my account and asked customer service if I could get my $15 credit back and they claimed it impossible to redeem that for me. I love this app but cancelling my clearly active account without consulting me and then not redeeming the credit I earned. Really rubbed me the wrong way.

Extremely high value membership
This is the most bang for buck I’ve ever received from a movie membership. In just the first month, I’ve received a welcome package, two movie tickets, and a birthday gift worth $35.

Horrible AirPlay Support
Takes 4-5 times restarting the app to get it to airplay…. Then it does so without audio. Can’t pause without having to restart this process.

Disappointed
App is meh, some buttons to external links don’t work. Lost me completely at adding Kevin O’Leary to the Marty Supreme movie. Not supporting a maga in any way or any company that supports him. I can’t do much but I can spend my money where I see fit.
