You can do better

I’ve used many gig apps and this is one of the least trustful. There is no way to rate a business or a shift you work, and they don’t give the information of the hiring company you will actually be working under. This very important because it’s not uncommon for the companies that use these apps to treat the contract workers terribly, and there is NO way to follow up if you’ve experienced discrimination, abuse, or harassment. They also claim there are benefits included like health insurance, sick leave, etc and there is NONE of that available. You can’t even cancel a gig if you’re sick or have an emergency without your account being deactivated. The cherry on top is payment is LOW and SLOW. Use Qwick, Tend, Instawork, Gigpro, Shiftsmart literally any other gig app. This one ain’t it.

No customer service or support for gig workers

I booked my gigs, I showed up to work. No one in the chat ever responds back. When you call for help it says no one is available and just makes you leave a message but no one calls back. I went to the address provided. Didn’t give the name of the location because I show up and it’s a bunch of hotels. I walk in and have to explain to them who I’m checking in with trying to get help because the gig isn’t with the hotel, I find out it’s for a client who booked a meeting room inside the hotel. Would of been nice to know instead of the hotel staff thinking I’m trying to get info about a guest. I’m there with another gig worker, and the client isn’t there. Their customers are there waiting asking us when the event starts and I’m apologizing that I’m have zero info and no response from the client either. She shows up half an hour late. Then says she meant she needed a banquet attendant. Her associate shows up and they decide to cancel us and won’t need us for that day or tomorrow. Then she claims it was supposed to be canceled by Adia but Adia still shows it booked rsvpd and everything and they even sent me a notification to remind me to rsvp. So I wasted time, no response from anyone at Adia. Now I can’t cancel the next shift because it’s been rsvp’d and ILL BE THE ONE penalized for this. Would give 0 stars if possible. Am I getting paid for for showing up to work? No clue.

App needs to be fixed

I’m giving this app a 3/5 because the app needs to be fixed. I got paid from working at a Retail Worker position for UPS. The thing was the chat function on the app still shows 1 notification and it wouldn’t go away. I had to message on the app if I’m working overtime, which I was. The chat still showed 1 notification and it was the same message that I’ve sent. Also, when I was trying to book for the Retail Worker position at UPS, there was an error stating that the gig was filled up, however, it was still on Book Gig and not on Standby. I clicked on it again and still said the same thing. I even closed and reopened the app again and it was still under Book Gig and when I clicked on it, the gig was filled up. I waited for several hours until I finally got the gig. The app needs to be more consistent with their gigs and when the gigs are full and should be on Standby. Also the chat feature needs to not show one notification, which I felt that’s a huge bug. I wanted to give it 4/5 but 3 stars is fine with this app.

Down hill

When i first downloaded this app maybe a year ago i was getting gigs! Now, i get nothing ! I will get a notification that my reserved job is available. I always click on it right away and then I’ll get an error message, it’ll take for ever to load and then I’ll get a message saying job was snagged. When i don’t have a job the app loads with no problems but when it’s time to claim MY RESERVED JOB it was to coincidentally glitch. Orr i will get a message the job is available and then it doesn’t show or allow me to book gig. They need to fix this, y’all are playing with individual’s time, patience and money! There’s obvious reasons why people download these apps. Also, if a job that i reserved is available i should have a grace period to accept. There’s no reason my reserved job is available for other people. That defeats the purpose of a reserved gig

Employers Cancel - NEVER able to work

I downloaded this app around end of December 2022/first of January 2023. It is now mid February 2023. I have signed up for/booked a total of 15 separate jobs. I have also been put in as a backup for a job that filled up either 3 or 4 times. Each gig I agreed to work, the employer cancelled without exception. They would cancel from near the moment I booked up to the one day prior to the shift start date. The ones I was given on backup status I never heard anything further from. So, please do not waste your time as I did. The worst part is I am pretty sure this is just a scam for your social security number and banking information, possibly. In a way I rather hope it is… at least that way someone gets something out of this.

Terrible

Terrible my first time booking a gig after I RSVP’D they sent me the address, What to wear etc, cool until I get there and the business is telling me my name is not in the system and they we’re not aware I was coming. Adia said they would reimburse. But only for 2 hours. When my shift was suppose to be 8 hours. I was not able to work the shift due to Adia not reaching out to let the company know I was coming. So getting paid for just 2 hours is not gonna do. If this happens often this people will definitely have a lawsuit on their hands one of these days if they don’t already. SMH will never book with them again

I beg my fellow human beings to not fall for this app.

I’m currently filing a lawsuit against this company. They’re owned by Adecco. They legitimately stole my wages and took me months to send me my shorted payment. They are literally impossible to get a whole of, both over the phone and via email. This company is not going to last because they have done more than I can explain you on here. Just understand it’s going to be me as to why this company won’t exist anymore. They’re evil and wrong and deserve what is legally coming to them.

Rough Start

Having all kinds of issues with the app. I had to delete and download again, then request a new password... it sent me a link to a business site where there was no log in, then a chat popped up telling me to call a number for customer service, but neither of us could hear each other so I just bailed. If this is a prediction of how things are going to go then I probably won't waste anymore time.

Why not fix the bugs!?

Adia has gotten me some very good gigs unfortunately they never last throughout the posted period. I’ve had employers send us home after a week when we booked the whole month because the app gives them such a hard time! I’ve also had my phone freeze from the Adia app, I was unable to use my phone for 5 mins because the app literally caused my phone to freeze & I have iPhone 12 Pro Max! This would be a great app if the developers would actually put effort into fixing the bugs! Cmon mane isn’t the goal for everyone to make money? Fix the app! As for now I no longer will be using this app until I’m notified it’s been updated. Horrible experience with my phone freezing, no thank you.

App support is horrible

I was underpaid on a shift, it was never resolved. No one answers the phone or support messages. Changing or adding shifts that were approved by employers is nearly impossible. I’ve had an employer ask me to work addition days but getting the days added couldn’t happen because support doesn’t answer. My only option is to show up and hope that the employer can get it resolved, one shift they did, still waiting on another shift to be added to my timesheet. They prey on desperate people.

Hard to book a shift. Everything is on standby

Had for about a week. After reading the reviews I decided to delete it after all of the jobs I wasn’t able to book. You literally have to reserve a spot in like for a job that you’ll probably never get anyways. after staying up wasting precious time on the app trying to book a shift, I decided to delete the app … plus the app barely has any available work even after selecting all of the different job categories

Disappointing!

Just know that just because they say “you have the gig” doesn’t mean that you do! I have had things scheduled and even arrived where the job was and then got a email that “the business had changed their needs”. What does that even mean? I depend on the money I make off gigs I book and this is the only one that has canceled a job and for it to be within a couple of hours before the job starts is disappointing and frustrating because it’s too late to book something else. You insist we be dependable or you will drop us but you drop us last minute. Disappointing!!

Be careful of this app!

I am having difficulties trying to finish my profile for my onboarding process. There’s a section for the I-9, and the preparer/ translator section for your identity and authorization that says you need a trusted person to verify your drivers license and ss# yet it needs like a boss at a former position…! This is a hassle and waste of time most of these apps let you take pics for these documents. Keep in mind, that this app now has all my private business from my ss#, name, date of birth, home address , mobile number, and my State Driver’s lic #! I’m completely NOT happy about any of this information being in their possession yet ppl please be careful! Yet, if this app doesn’t contact me asap I’ll be forced to file a police report to protect myself against identity fraud

Hi there. We are sorry to hear that you feel this way about Adia. Many people appreciate the W-2 aspect of Adia as this means they can earn extra benefits. We handle personal information with the utmost security and have worked to make the onboarding process as streamlined as possible. If you change your mind about using the platform, we'd love to have you back on. Thanks.

Glitchy but works

I like others had issues with the onboarding and the app does malfunction now and again. Sometimes it will say I need to onboard and other times it won’t let me clock in or out at the job site. Other than the occasional glitches it’s pretty smooth. Jobs get offered regularly but you have to beat others to it. When I’ve had issues I have to call soo many times because their wait times are so long they just ask you leave a message, but they do fix it for me. They have work to do on this app but it’s not all bad. In a month I’ve made more than 1k on weekend gigs alone. Also you are a w-2 employee so it’s easier come tax time.

Thank you for the feedback! We have recently launched updates to the app that have fixed crashing and glitching issues. Thanks again for the review.

App doesn’t work

As much as I want to use this app it’s just not working. When I first downloaded it I had problems creating an account. Instead I had to go straight to the Internet and create my account from there and it provided me a link to open the app which is kind of silly. I was able to open the app now that I had an account and that I was logged in. My only issue after that was the on boarding process. I completed all of the on boarding steps and for some reason it kept saying no Internet connection when I had Internet connection on my phone on my phone plus Wi-Fi going in the background. I’m a little bit upset because I was really relying on this app and it’s a shame that it only works if you register your account through the website instead of through the app. There’s quite a few bug issues that need to be fixed and if they are I believe this app can really make huge progress with helping people find work.

Working for Adia

Working for Adia has been a great experience. Everything is done on your phone from getting work to checking in to checking out. You find out how much you earn for each day. You get notifications before your shift starts so you won’t miss or be late. You can also check your drive time and best routes to go. Quick response time when you ask any questions via the chat line. It’s been great working for Adia and looking forward to working some more. The pay is excellent!! Thank you!!

COSTUMER SERVICE

Adia costumer service is literally the worst out of all the temp work apps. These guys almost never respond. I’ve worked several gigs and sometimes when my pay is messed up and I reach out to them they’ll almost never reach back out to me and if they do it’s probably 2 months later. Please work on this because when someone goes to put in their time and hard working hours for someone and you guys choose to hold their money it makes them want to delete the app or file a lawsuit because it’s the most annoying thing you could do to someone to upset them.

Bad Company and bad business

The first gig app that don’t compensate for making it to a site and being sent home after traveling two hours there and then another two hours back home and spending money out of pocket to get to the site only to be requested back the next day it makes no sense and you’re lucky if you get a response within a good time frame or a response at all as the customer service for this company is very bad and the company left a very bad taste in my mouth probably won’t ever work with this company again

Adia robbed me

I waited two months to give adia the chance to right this the truth is they do not care about their employees and if they get paid that’s why you can’t contact them. be careful with them because in my experience I WORKed A 10hr shift and was never paid even after having the supervisor confirm my hours adia never paid. The worst part is they’re Shameless and express no remorse for their own mistakes. But I hope this review is heard by many and it’ll save another from being ripped off by another sleazy gig app like this one right here.
