Constant work in progress

I’ve been using AR for four years. It’s gone from straight up terrible to somewhat manageable but only because they introduced LeadAR for managing patient calls and tracking leads. AR is so lacking in features it’s barely passable as an EMR.

The biggest issues are the patient documenting, bloated and disjointed layout, slow interface, and the patient portal. Patients cannot easily login to the portal. If they miss their initial welcome email when they make their first appointment (which is highly likely) the system will never let them in unless an admin resends this invite email and the patient opens it, clicks the links to verify their phone and email, and confirms their personal details. There’s no self-service button for the patients to do this on their own. It’s the dumbest thing. What software doesn’t allow users to reset their own login?

Their customer service is absolute garbage. Nobody can answer a damn question and they will treat you like you’re the idiot, even though they don’t bother testing their own shoddy product or attempting to understand where any of the common problems are. They’re more preoccupied with their cute conferences and podcasts. .

You get what you pay for

It is very inexpensive! Customer service is frustrating and slow. The updates are frequent and can slow down progress with charting to a turtles pace. When you speak with customer service, they blame it on your device, your cache anything but their app. It can take way too long to actually get support while you have a patient in your office and you’re getting increasingly frustrated and need immediate assistance. If it weren’t so difficult to port over to a new EMR, I would’ve done it years ago.

AR

There’s so many updates and it only seems to slow the practice down. The new consents are redundant and makes no sense. We need to be able to put credit card fees to clients and we’ve ask multiple times for this feature. There needs to be more options for before and after pictures. After the latest update the ability to pull up pictures while in the visit note isn’t an option. This is not well thought out or user friendly.

Second authentication

When we are in the workplace, we cannot look for our phones for a code to get into our records. In fact, most workspaces would like for us to not be on our phones. They are locked and put away during work hours. To check people in and check people out or even take payment. Having the second authentication makes Aesthetic Record very difficult to use in the workspace it is a very slow and hard process just to get Aesthetic Record to work properly or even sign in.

Needs major updates

App. isn’t great. It needs updates to the UI, search experience, navigation, different views, and reporting.

App. is all around not great. There are features that haven’t been invested in that should be. It also is constantly crashing.

2fa

They made two-factor authentication mandatory, and it made the program very inconvenient and difficult to use because of all the extra codes.

Improve Provider Schedule Calendar View

When building out the schedule for the month, the only view is the individual provider schedule. There is no way to see when all providers are scheduled to work in the calendar month.

It would be beneficial to have a full view of who is in the schedule and sort out providers by Color to see who’s working what days. This would be for the provider scheduling view only. Most providers don’t have a basic 9-5 and many have alternating schedules that can’t be duplicated so this would make it easier to see the schedule ahead and to know where there is a need for a provider to work

Online booking needs improvement

Need to update online booking. Patient has trouble clicking service on online booking they then have to click service again at the bottom to allow processing to next screen. Many calls where patients are getting stuck. Asked company to fix it several times. It’s an easy update.

Annoying

This app is extremely inconvenient because it doesn’t allow you to be logged in on more than one device at a time. While at home I use my phone to book clients and at the office I use my computer. The app kicks me out every time from one. It’s very annoying. Also the constant updates are obnoxious too because they don’t seem to make anything easier.

Terrible

Do not purchase this software

This is the absolute worst, I’ve used and I’ve had 20 years in the health care and cosmetic field. The build out from the beginning was a disaster. There’s no support from the company nor do they know how to help or even respond. Every update just makes it worse and adds more steps. If I could rate a negative number that’s what I would have done. Unfortunately at this time we’re stuck with this one but hopefully not forever.

Photos

Why did the photos move? Now you have to take photos before you can get to the New Patient questionnaire and consent forms. Before you can do the consultation on what treatment and photos you are going to need. Not helpful can you please change it back.

Aesthetic practices

System seems to be doing better.

Awful Updates

Constant updates, during operating hours, I might add. The updates make it so you can’t use the program and has caused a lot of problems for us. I understand updates are required for any app, but why during hours that are considered normal work hours? And the updates always cause glitches in the system.

Very slow and excessive updates

It’s hard to run business efficiently because of all the recurrent updates

Aesthetic Records

The electronic medical record (EMR) system is frustrating. The constant updates are annoying, and I recommend investing in a different solution. You will end up disappointed with this one.

Drawing tool is terrible

With technology possible today it seems like AR should be able to provide a better drawing tool. This one is so archaic and doesn’t even calibrate to draw with a stylus or change the thickness of the line, or draw in a different color. Super basic.

Customer Service Listened

I previously rated 2 stars due to the fact that the Aestheticians Record app locks you out every 30 minutes and requires you to enter log in credentials, both email and password, every time. For some reason it would not ask for the 4 digit code all the time. I suggested that the developer trust the users and reduce the frequency to lock us out, or the app introduce a Face ID or fingerprint identification, and they truly responded added that feature. Thank you!
It does not change the fact that the app locks out the user very often, which is inconvenient on our shared devices. However, at least it is easier to use on our personal phones.
