Where's the SEARCH function?!!
Who signed off on launching this app without a SEARCH function?!? It is absolutely maddening to not be able to search for articles I've read before or that someone suggests I read. As an app, it is well organized and easy to navigate, but the lack of a SEARCH function earns it one-star in my book.
No Zoom, No Search
Why sell content if you don’t satisfy the curiosity it engenders? You can’t even switch between portrait and landscape to get a slightly bigger view. The annoyance is overtaking the value.
Very frustrating
The Gold Standard of apps is WSJ. This AJC app is terrible [or maybe it’s their support]! I give up-as a new subscriber and multiple efforts with their support team, I now give up! They simply cannot help me get full screen display on my 13” iPad. The results make reading near impossible plus navigating is a nightmare. They need to trash this app and start over! I’m asking for my subscription fee to be refunded.

Who thought removing those features was an improvement? If you can’t see or find the content, why subscribe?
Where's the SEARCH bar?!?
How have you created a news app with so much content without a SEARCH bar?!? It is beyond frustrating to not be able to search your articles based on specific search terms. I'd love to read articles about the proliferation of data centers in metro Atlanta, but I'll never know using this app. This is a basic feature. How was this app developed without a SEARCH function?!?

This app has ceased to be working. I am no longer able to read the AJC on this app. I now am forced to google the morning paper and select ePaper.

Links Don’t Open, No Search, Subscription Doesn’t Work on Web
This review is for the app/subscription service, not for the quality of the journalism.
I have an active paid subscription through Apple and am signed into the same account in both the AJC app and on the AJC website. However, when I try to read articles in a web browser, the website tells me I do not have a subscription.
Then, when I tap an AJC article link and choose “Open in AJC News” the app doesn’t open the article I wanted to read and instead it just opens to the app’s homepage.
Oh, and there’s no search function in the app.
Maybe the app works for reading today’s news, but is completely useless for reading specific articles. Extremely frustrating.

Very disappointed
A reader of almost 63 years, I was glad to see the epaper BUT along with it kept the constant updating of apps leaving a lot of us with devices that could not keep up and update without purchasing new equipment. I can no longer even get the paper without purchasing a new device. I will stop my subscription.

Old app UI way better
I regret updating to the new app. The old version was much better. You cannot easily see multiple articles at a time. Too much scrolling.
Inferior eReader is unusable
AJC is promoting this as an improvement over the AJC eReader app,but it is clearly inferior. Basic usability features are just not there. The biggest issue is that if I switch to another app for a few minutes and come back, the app forgets my location and I have to find the page I was on to resume reading. Another issue is less of the screen is dedicated to the newspaper page, because more space is consumed by ads and navigation. I already pay for the newspaper, the newspaper contains ads, and then you clutter up the ePaper with more ads. Get real. Please stop nagging about the change to this new app, unless it’s really a superior product.

Once again the slant leans so far left Cynthia would be a moderate in today’s times.
Unusable
Ipad version e-paper is unusable.
Zooming into an article locks the screen, unable to zoom back to the full page. Impossible to advance to the next page when zoomed in.
If you minimize the app than return to it, it returns to the front page rather than returning to the last page you were reading.
The android and windows (browser) do not have this behavior.

Has some kinks
The new issue does not automatically come in. Difficult to save the crossword & return.
New format
The new format is awful. I can sometimes get the old format but mostly not. Must consider canceling if can’t find a way around this.
Bad extra charge!
Every title to a want to read article has a charge,as a subscriber for 50 years . I am not going to,pay extra to read any article.
Ads or free
Maddening to see a headline and a line or two then the story is blocked out unless you subscribe. Not enough quality content to pay for a subscription
Terrible Loop
When logged in to the app, if I want to look at the ePaper, there’s a pop up that one is required to access, which takes the user out to the App Store to download the app. Completely ridiculous.
Dark View On Home Page
I resubscribed recently and was dismayed by the lack of the dark view mode on the “home page” news section.
Why change this? Don’t receive my Sunday paper anymore and now have to read new headlines on this unwanted format. FIX THIS!
