Great help. Gets better every day
Read before subscribing, very inaccurate, detailed review

Sorry you had such a difficult experience with this. We dug into the Coke Zero issue, fixed it, and emailed you directly. You should never feel trapped in a subscription that is not working for you. Reply to our email and we’ll help you with a refund. Alma 4.0 is coming in the next couple of weeks with major improvements to tracking speed and accuracy.

I subscribed for Apple Health sync. It did not work at all for my first week. After I reported it, it started working — badly. Data arrives out of sync and doesn't reconcile. In a nutrition tracker, unreliable data is worse than no data: you don't know to correct what you don't know is wrong.
More than a dozen bug reports in seven days, every one confirmed legitimate by support. AI memory failures. Food logged silently as nothing. Identical foods identified differently between entries. Wrong items logged outright.
And every update fixed something while breaking something else. After one release the keyboard vanished from chat entry after a single message, unrecoverable, in a flow I'd been using heavily the day before. That is not an early product finding its footing — that's regression in production on core paths, week after week.
$99 a year to be an unpaid QA channel. The founder answers personally and extended my trial when I escalated, which I'll credit honestly. Responsiveness isn't reliability.
Know what you’re typing into. This is an AI product built around a chat assistant, and it prompts for health details — hydration, digestion, MEDICATIONS, GLP-1 use — as advertised features. Per their own terms, support personnel can access user data. Worth noting: bug reports here are capped at 500 characters, and mine were resolved without anyone ever asking me a follow-up question or for steps to reproduce. Draw your own conclusion about how much of your session they’re looking at, and read the terms before you enter anything sensitive.
Skip it for now.

Kemer, you joined during a major release and hit an unusually concentrated set of bugs. We have since fixed the issues you formally submitted and tightened our release process. We investigated your reports using the information you submitted and the limited account context described in our terms. We take privacy seriously, answered your questions directly, and provided the information you requested privately. The product experience you described was poor. The suggestion of undisclosed access is not an accurate description of how those reports were handled.
Worth giving it a try

Thanks for building up such an amazing app! Works awesome with my Garmin watch as well!
Response from developer
This means a lot. Helping you fuel half marathons and everyday training is exactly the kind of real-life support we want Alma to provide. So glad the Garmin connection is working well for you, and thanks for being with us since October!
AI chat underwhelming
As an AI-native app this is highly disappointing. Moving back to MyFitnessPal
Great Nutrition App
Easy and adaptive
Incredible App!
It’s improving and benefits from specifics
However I’ve persevered after the founder reached out to me and explained what was in the process of being fixed etc.
Since then I’ve found it actually to be a lot better than it initially was but like all apps with an AI element you need to be aware of AI limitations and sometimes question it. That’s an issue with AI not the apps. If you’re looking for a calorie/diet assessment tool it’s pretty good - particularly on the nudge advice. It’s pretty accurate with bought packaged foods (which I rarely eat) but needs a more careful eye over its thinking when you do your own cooking from scratch etc. I found that it’s default assessment of a portion was, putting it politely, slightly American supersized compared with the average European meal (average is obviously very subjective) so it can help to give it specifics such as pictures with description or actual weight (eg 150g of pasta).
The upshot is that I’m going to stick with this over the next few months as it’s turned into a useful coach / guideline adviser particularly now it’s counting my exercise - and chatting with it ahead of an evening meal can be very useful to consider what you really need / want and to approach food mindfully.
Best nutrition app ever!
Great Resource
The Best Nutrition App

This means a lot, especially coming from someone who's tried so many nutrition apps. We're so glad the voice logging and MCP integration are working so well for you!
