Features not working
Started reading one of the books in an ad and thought I’d see how it continued. It’s annoying having to unlock every single chapter, especially as they’re maybe 8 screens long, but the coins add up WHEN THEY WORK! I unlocked 10 chapters of the book I’m reading (after collecting 300 coins) and have read 8 so far this morning and not a single reading minute has been acquired!

Cancelling is difficult
They catch you out with extra charges when you’re paying, if you hit continue you’re actually adding extras onto your subscription so be extremely careful.
Also you can’t cancel or see your subscription through the app it directs you somewhere else but doesn’t even give you a link to make it easier. I just charge a ridiculous amount for 3 days because I thought I had already cancelled it.

Change in way the app charges
AlphaNovel used to be my favourite. Good quality novels decently written and easily accessible. But since the changes in how you can gain access to chapters I’ve used it much less and you’ve lost the advertising revenue I used to generate
No way to unsubscribe
Very misleading, seems illegal we can’t unsubscribe through the app. Wanted to do the three day trial. Ended up stuck here

Too expensive and too hard to cancel
$9.99 a week is ridiculous. Why can’t I cancel payment from the app itself. I’ve been trying to cancel for 3 weeks and still haven’t been able to stop paying yet.

The add said all free but u get to ready what you already read in the add then what do ya know they want money so I deleted it. I get the authors if they’re not ai need to get paid but I hate a lier so bye
No common courtesy
I subscribed to this app by accident when having a look at it through a social media ad. At the time I did not realise that they would take multiple charges from my acct in one week when it was a monthly instalment. When I tried to cancel the subscription I could not find this option in the app settings anywhere. I even got my children to help with no luck. I emailed alphanovel with no reply so for months I was having charges taken from my acct even though I wanted to cancel but couldn’t work out how to. After speaking to my bank and asking them to block these charges, alphanovel somehow kept taking my money.
After sending another email to their support, I finally got a reply saying they would refund the last charge, however there was over $400 taken from my acct while I’ve been trying to get this sorted. Their support did cancel the subscription for me and that is the only decent thing they done.
I do not recommend this app at all.
