Please update
I’ve been a loyal user for 5 years. Spent thousands on hardware and very frustrated that I now cannot log into the app to manage my network. I’m getting an “oops something went wrong” pop up when I go to my network. Please don’t leave us stranded!

Unreliable abandonware
This app and AmpliFi routers were great when I first bought my three Alien routers as a mesh setup. That was over $1000 in router hardware and now 5ish years later they’ve all failed in various ways and the app hasn’t been updated in two years. A firmware update a few weeks ago took down half of my wired network and nothing I did could fix it. After fighting with it for weeks I eventually had to buy a whole new wireless setup. Very disappointed in what I got for the money I spent.

No app update in over two years
App not working properly. Ghost devices on list. They have not done an update to their app in over two years, leaving users vulnerable. They have apparently “checked out” on this product. Not cool.
Bring it back!!
PLEASE bring back the amplifi support and products!
App unusable after iOS update
Since upgrading to iOS 26 the app no longer works at all. When selecting my AmpliFi Alien router, the app asks for the AmpliFi password, but immediately returns “Oops, something went wrong” after entering it.
The network itself is functioning normally and all devices remain online, but the app cannot authenticate with the router, making it impossible to manage the network.
Troubleshooting already attempted:
• Logging out and back into the AmpliFi account
• Deleting and reinstalling the app
• Rebooting router and phone
• Resetting the router password
• Trying multiple iOS devices
The issue persists across all devices.
Based on other reviews, it appears this may be a compatibility issue with newer iOS versions. The router works, but the app cannot authenticate, which effectively removes the ability to manage the network.
Please investigate and release a fix.

Not as advertised
I invested in multiple Amplifi Instant routers and a full Ethernet backhaul setup only to discover this app does not allow you to enable said backhaul. There’s a help article describing how to do this in great detail, except the part of the app where you enable Ethernet backhaul does nothing: the stupid little button literally does nothing in both versions of the app (ios/android). Impossible to enable backhaul… this is me being swindled, apparently.

Suddenly broken after 1 year
Rubbish products not worth a penny. Support is nonsense
App isn’t working
I was able to sign in 1 time only. Now I can’t sign in at all. Every time I put in the verification code, it sends me back to the login screen. When I choose a different verification method, the screen is blank.
The one time I did connect, I was able to set up the router but was never able to see my devices like the instructions said I could.
Very, very frustrating.

Don't buy their "Aliens"
You're paying way too much for a device that will likely fail within 2–3 years, it's just not worth it.
Customer support is basically worthless.
After waiting an entire month, they finally told me what I had already discovered on Reddit: your precious "Alien" is dead.
The company behind them? Ubiquiti.
Honestly, a $40 TP-Link router performs just as well, if not better.
So why spend 10x more on something destined to fail?
And if it’s out of warranty? You’re out of luck.
They should be called Failfy!

Great dual mesh in a box
Software not working
I have had no issues until 2 days ago. The software locked me out and won’t accept my password. System is still fine, all devices online and working, I just can’t SEE anything.. quite a pain. Customer support says reset to factory but how will that help the software itself to function?!? I have reset the password and it still won’t let me see the mesh network, or anything beyond a login screen. I will try factory reset, but I have serious doubts it will make the software itself work again, and what a hassle!

No customer support
They offer no customer support except by email. I’ve had an issue with my Alien mesh combo system and nobody has responded in over three days!
Software great - Alien mesh setup not great
Have had my Alien router and mesh node kit for a couple years, then bought another router about a year later to use as second mesh node. Difficult to connect mesh nodes initially, but once working, it was great. Two years later, both mesh nodes went offline. I can get them connected while a couple of feet away from the router, but as soon as I take them 20 ft away, they will not reconnect. I reset everything to start over, and unplugged my ONT modem, but same thing. My guess, according to Reddit threads is that others are having the mesh fail after a couple of years - I’m sure my other router used as a mesh node will work fine as a stand-alone router, but I’ll bet the mesh range is failing. My symptoms are the same as others who have confirmed with the manufacturer, Ubiquity. Expensive set to be failing in 2-3 years.
Odd thing is that I used to have their HD system, and it was easy and ran flawlessly for 6 or so years - I just wanted to take advantage of the faster data speeds coming in.

Wonderful App
Easy setup - Clear navigation - Could not ask for a better app.
UI-account for log-in not working!
My existing and working UI-account is NOT being accepted by the AMPLIFI-app.! Very poor!
Extremely slow
Takes almost forever to find the device and more to be connected to the VPN. Finding alternatives.
