I've Liked Amplosion For Several Years (and Highly Recommend it), BUT; I've a Question...

I've been using (ONLY!) Macs since about 1990 (I still have ALL my old machines, laptops, etc. Still, I love my tricked-out System 7, which is in some ways STILL more advanced than macOS, but I digress), and I've ALWAYS valued my privacy (I don't use any so-called '[anti]social media'. My friends know how to reach me whenever they need. I don't want or need to be available 24/7).

That said, I've always really safeguarded myself (VPNs are a MUST for everyone today, and not those 'free' ones), and on my iOS devices, I've had your (very highly-rated. Congrats) Amplosion.

My concern is with this bit of standard 'contract' between Amplosion and us users:

'This extension will be able to read and alter web pages and see your browsing history on this website. This could include sensitive information, including...'

I understand Amplosion will be able to read and alter pages, but regarding the browsing history, is that referring to the 'past pages' on which Amplosion has been used?

In other words, is it just referring to past-'amped' pages?

Aside from that, it's very simple to use (I like it), and it's part of my Safari 'pocket knife' of tools.

Making iOS Google results bearable

I’m not exactly sure when Google started using its amp service, but I could always tell when I was on a website that wasn’t quite right. Amplosion is the antidote to Google amp

Doload this game

Frickin awesome

Puppy

Hasn’t logged any redirects, dk if because I don’t visit certain sites or now an apple feature. Either was, has interactive puppy.

Fixed now

Was having a problem for a while where the app stopped being as effective, it got some stuff but not all amp websites. At some point that seems to have been resolved, because I can’t think of the last time I saw an amp websites. Upgrading my review to 5/5

UTTER CON

NEVER EVER works on ANY website whatsoever at all! Does NOT block AMP pages!

Doesn’t work

Can’t even enable it

One of the only apps doing what it promises.

This is the most simple but powerful & useful things I’ve “invested” in. Haven’t had to deal with amp links for the last like, year.

Most apps or extensions work but require users to check/open them constantly to make sure it’s working, are confusing and advertise many functions but do them all at a subpar level.. or just simply half-work. Amp does exactly what it promises to do, saves me so much timeeee dealing with each individual amp link and so worth the small price.

Still supported? It crashes on startup

I love this app, but it no longer works. It crashes on startup and it seems like it’s been a while since it was updated.

Give Lord Waffles his own game

The browser extension is great and all but Lord Waffles needs his own game! I know you’ve got an animal widget game but it’s missing Lord Waffles who needs his own adventures!

Needs an update to work with Google images.

It’s a good app, but needs an update to deal with Google images. When you click a Google image or press the visit button, the AMP page slides up from the bottom of the Safari window instead of opening the actual page. The extension works fine with regular Google links.

Edit: May 2023 and it’s now broken for Google news links. Just constantly redirects back and forth to the AMP. It’s trying to redirect but doesn’t work. Amplosion stats said it tried to redirect 240 times for one website. But couldn’t in the end.

Edit: September 2023 — Dev still hasn’t updated it to work properly in Google Images in Safari. The amp pops up, but it doesn’t redirect. If you click the amp it just reloads the amp, doesn’t open the website. Disabling the extension allows you to open the website with the image.

The Dev has given up on the extension, can’t recommend it.

I cannot leave a rating due to non use of App

I clicked on the extension only to realize that I did not need to use said app. I deleted it. From the reviews I gather it is extremely popular. Just not for me. If I could get a refund I would appreciate it! I literally deleted within an hour of getting the app, after realizing I wouldn't use it. Thank you!!

Lord Waffles Says “Buy Me”

This app has a mascot named Lord Waffles, which was all I needed to know. But if you still have doubts, know that it also does something I don’t understand that hurts Google’s revenue. $2 to support an indie developer and fight an evil mega corp? Sign me right up.

Thanks, Christian

For all your apps, your commitment to user privacy, and all your hard work. Looking forward to supporting whatever you decide to do for your next project.

Works very well

Truly appreciate this. Really great app!!

Thanks Christian!

:)

Worked Initially. Now it does not do anything

As the title says. I did not change settings FYI and I still get pop ups

Not working

It it turned on and selected to all . I put in a site and it changes to a different site with a different name not the web site i wanted to visit. Don't waste your money on this app.

So fetch!

Honestly like you install it and bam, so cool.
