Great app

All in one app for storing all important book marks

Buy it!

Excellent. Recommended.

If you switch off iCloud the local cache will wipe

What a letdown. I would have lost data because of this app (but for backups). It defaults to having iCloud switched on and consumes an enormous amount of data. I don't need the sync feature and I prefer local where possible. I'd already started using the app, some tagging, some folders, then realized I was 3GB in on my iCloud account so switched syncing off and deleted the iCloud usage in iCloud. The app carried on with an import (10K links) in progress telling me all is well while at the same time destroying the imported data as well as wiping out my previous data. Nice. So now out of morbid curiosity and with no data at all, I tried a fresh import and while it worked and persists I do NOT want to become vested in this app and lose everything a second time. I'd love a refund but that's not going to happen is it.

Best place to store anything

I was looking for some app where I can put everything and forget. This app stores all types of files, links, et cetera. Very easy to organise by tags folders and smart list.

Nice and functional

Just works and helps me sync things across devices nicely without relying on other services outside of iCloud.

Doesn’t sync from iOS to Mac

I bookmark articles every morning, with Anybox, on my M1 iPad Pro. I bookmarked several articles a couple days ago. I’m looking at my bookmarks on my Mac. The most recent bookmarks I can see are from 2 months ago.

I’ve tried all suggestions. Both devices report syncing is on and up to date a few minutes ago. Sometimes discarding the bookmarks on Mac and re-syncing them works, other times not.

The tagging etc is pretty good (so two stars) but the syncing issue reduces the utility of the app.

Pretty okay

Pretty close to being excellent, except for the baffling decision to obfuscate the domain name for each of your links.

Of all the metadata for your links, the domain name is perhaps the most important yet it’s treated as of secondary importance, and effectively hidden in the interface with a dark grey font on an even darker grey background in dark mode.

Developer wasn’t interested in entertaining the idea of addressing this. Even lightening the font colour to make it more accessible was too much.

Disappointed in this product and developer.

What’s the point?

I thought this was just the app I was looking for, until I got all of my folders organized and had spent a couple hours starting to sort through hundreds of unorganized bookmarks only to find out there’s no synchronization between this app and Safari. Without that, what’s the point?????

Anyboc

I would definitely recommend very easy to use and understand

App Doesn’t Sort Folder Names

App is useless at moment until developers add feature to sort folders by name. How anybody is praising this app when the folders are sorted merely by folder-creation order is beyond me. This is a critical feature for users to categorize urls, etc. Otherwise, app’s good features are its simplicity to use and the prevention of pasting duplicate urls. I like that it is keeping your data in the icloud and not on their servers.

Hands down the best bookmarking tool for and across Apple

I love the fact that this has a one time purchase option but was a little bummed when I saw it was around $40 or so….$40 for a bookmarking tool after having already bought and (wasted) around $500 or so on apps for the year…I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Fast forward - Goodlinks doesn’t have folders and is unusable for that reason alone; Raindrop has just been an absolute time suck for me, and Cubox and Reader are just weird tools. If I could go back in time, I would buy this, get an annual subscription to Ulysses, Recall AI, use Brave for both iOS and macOS and add Gistr as a chrome extension…that’s it. All the other stuff isn’t necessary (at least for me).

Update review: Improve tagging system

Update: why can’t a user add a link directly to the app instead of updating the link file. Please add this.

Need to improve tagging so user can assign a tag to multiple links at once.

Tagging currently requires assigning a tag to each individual link one at a time.

Come on, fix this! Do you realize how much time this will save across all users?

Fast & Useful

Anybox is one of the few apps I’ve paid for on Mac and iPhone. I love the fact that it’s native, fast, and follows Apple Design guidelines. Also, it supports all native Apple “Share” features.

I switched from Raindrop and I couldn’t be more satisfied with this app.

Surprising

Great bookmarks manager with power users in mind.

Can’t sort links alphabetically

I really like the app, but there’s one issue that bothers me. I can’t properly sort my bookmarks alphabetically by website name because the app includes prefixes like “www,” “http,” and “https.” I can partly fix it by removing “www” from links that use “https,” but if a link uses “http,” it still messes up the order. It would be great if the app could ignore these prefixes when sorting bookmarks.

Literally almost perfect

This is one of the best apps in its class. It would be THE best if it had AI functionality like the new wave of bookmark managers coming out. Even something simple like being able to ask about your library in a chat interface. Hopefully this comes soon!

Terrible Sync

The only thing this bad at staying in sync is Safari itself. This app is trash.

Sync Issues

I stopped using Safari bookmarks because they do not sync between iOS and macOS. Anybox has the same issue. I have to force re-sync on a regular basis. Why is it so difficult to keep bookmarks in sync?

Also, Anybox constantly opens all links in reader mode. There is a toggle switch in the app for this that absolutely does not work. I do not want reader mode every time I open a link.
