I don’t understand why search engines insist on using this app! It seems that every time I try to locate something on Safari, it never takes me to Google Maps. It always takes me to this one and the directions are much worse than Google Maps.
Misdirection
Apple maps has significantly gotten worse over the years. the amount of times I have gotten lost on foot or driving in big cities because it takes me in a completely different direction than where I am supposed to go this isn't just me my friends and family have the same issue. we also have full signal. We've wasted a lot of time and gas because of this app I'm over it. google maps is my new bestie

I love maps. I plan ahead. But you need to fix this and not bow to idiots with a marker. It’s the Gulf of Mexico. Fix it.

Disappointing
I find Apple map directions better than Google’s but I just found out they called the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. Ridiculous. I haven’t yet seen the ads that other reviewers mentioned but that will definitely be a huge negative for me.
It has ads now, can’t trust it
Really, Apple? I spend how much for a phone and then I have to deal with ads littering absolutely everything now?! The App Store, News, and Stocks are already unusable becuase promoted garbage and low-quality gross ads are everywhere. I can’t trust them at all. Now even Maps?! I thought Apple was the privacy company, I’ve turned off every tracker possible in Safari but now APPLE itself insists on spying on me.

Took away Google Maps as Default
As of IOS 26 this app has locked out Google Maps from default apps. This app in comparison is abysmal. Horrible routes, horrible UI, horrible traffic data. Even deleting this app won’t let Google Maps be default on iPhone. Do better Apple.
Gulf of Mexico is the only real name
Decent travel app but they are stupid for changing Gulf of Mexico name to the false name it has currently.

Unreliable App - Inconsistent name changes depending on cell signal
If you work along the borders. Water bodies random change names depending on your cell signal. Unreliable app!!!
