Meh

Kinda does the job. Doesn’t justify the paywall features. Everyone wants to get their beak wet, even when they make the hobby and community worse.

Overall it works great.

One thing that drives me nuts, the filter don’t save, so every time I open it I have to disable AIS and all weather stations. That’s the only thing I’d love to see changed.

Must have for IOS

La contribution d’Hessu à l’APRS sur IOS a été essentielle, son application est incontournable si l’on veut utiliser un TNC Kiss via BLE sur iPhone/iPad

Fraglich

Lässt nichts zu alles in Englisch keine Deutsche Übersetzung, Fehler anzeigen aber keine Änderung zulassen ! Schade um die Mühe…..

FAQ

What does the aprs.fi app do?

The app provides real-time access to APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) position information, weather reports, and telemetry graphs. It also offers route guidance, allows you to search for callsigns and addresses, and track multiple stations on a map.

What are the key features of the aprs.fi app?

Key features include real-time APRS data display, step-by-step route guidance, callsign and address search with history, the ability to track multiple stations simultaneously, and filtering of map information. You can also view weather and telemetry graphs, and beacon your own position.

Is the aprs.fi app free to use?

The app is free to download and offers many features without a subscription, such as real-time APRS data access and basic navigation. However, some advanced features, like APRS text messaging and high-performance DSP modem capabilities, require an additional in-app subscription.

What devices and operating systems are supported?

The app is tested to work on all currently supported iPhone and iPad models. It supports a wide range of iOS versions, including iOS 14 through iOS 18 and 26, and features Dark Mode support for better viewing in low light.

Can I use the app without an internet connection?

While many features rely on internet connectivity to access the aprs.fi database, you can attach to a transceiver with a wireless connection to a BLE TNC. This allows you to receive and transmit position beacons without needing an internet connection.
