Good start but needs to be improved
Needs improvement especially with respect to media downloading and sharing experience. It’s not at par with WhatsApp. Happy it’s Indian and trying to get others on it but these things need to be improved
revised review: Works good, remove few kinks and it can be great
originally had a problem in it jot getting sign in otp overseas but it seems to be fixed now. With wa crossing all limits of user privacy this app needs to succeed. Things to work on so I can refer it to others (vs wa):
1. Call quality- its very good but little less than wa, probably an engineer to refactor the code for efficiency and throughput can solve it.
2. following from 1 If network changes then reconnecting takes longer time(vs wa) maybe due to reestablishing e2e?
3. Media upload and share is slow.
4. App fonts and UI need to add engaging placement of elements and fonts etc, it’s functional but not appealing.

Privacy and security
Arattai Messenger is a promising alternative to WhatsApp, with a simple interface and useful messaging features. I would like more clarity about how user data, private messages, photos, and videos are protected. Clear information about encryption, data storage, and whether messages are accessible to third parties would help users feel more confident using the app.
I also suggest adding a **“View Once”** feature for photos and videos. This would allow users to send sensitive media that disappears after being viewed, improving privacy and giving users more control over their content.

Feedback
It’s been a few days since I started using Arattai. I don’t have any major complaints so far. The only feature I feel is missing is a dedicated Links section within individual chats, which would make it much easier to find shared URLs.
Awesome App
App is awesome, they should do more marketing for larger reach.
