Great site horrible app

The faults with the app are too numerous to mention but as others have said the lack of password reset ability and inability to work with customer service top the list.

No longer works

Just updated my iPad and the magazines no longer load.

Paid yearly subscription

But does not work. Paid before name and password accepted.

Well that was a waste

Bought the digital version, their own app was a big draw. Downloaded and it says “no content”. I guess there is no more app

Terrible app

This app is awful. It won’t stay logged in, and once it logs me out it won’t let me log back in. I’ve deleted and reinstalled innumerable times. Garbage!

Won’t stay logged in

I wish this app would STOP logging me out all the time!

Clunky and you can’t read issues after your subscription expires.

Love the content but the app makes it an effort to read. It simply presents an image of the page which makes the font small. (using iPad Mini). You can zoom in but then you have to keep moving the picture around as the layout is in columns. Another annoyance is that when you close the app and return later to continue reading, it doesn’t remember where you were. But my biggest issue with Archaeology Magazine is that when your subscription expires, you no longer have access to the issues for your subscription year. What a scam. I never did get to read the last issue.

Great magazine

Piss poor UI/UX app

This review does NOT reflect the publication but the app

I love the magazine, I always have, but the app has problems. There’s no place to reset a password. I was locked out of my account for almost 2 months but got back in thanks to customer service. And at times it says that a magazine that I am supposed to have access too is locked and I have to pay $4.99 for it ( I pay for the year not by issue) however I can still read it fully by clicking the preview button. Again love the publication and I will continue to read them, I just wish the app was better.

WARNING! Do Not Bother!

Clunkiest, non-functioning, app on The Store. Last updated 2 years (!) ago. Read the reviews. Not one of them lies. Except for the 5 and 4 stars. This is Archaeology Magazine. You would expect more from them. NatGeo, Smithsonian, level stuff. This ain’t even self-published Amazon good. Absolute garbage. But the articles are good. If you could read them. You know those reviews that say ‘i’d give 0 stars if i could’? Well, this is a perfect example. STAY AWAY!

Such a Sham!!!

Bogus site/app and unable to request support from App website suggestion

Disappointed

I love this magazine and read it on the computer frequently. I am extremely disappointed with the app. It is very hard to read.

Terrible

No way to get forgotten password! No way to get into a subscription I paid for. No way to contact for for help to access!

Almost Non-Functional

I have subscribed to the digital edition of this interesting content magazine for over 3 years, but after some updates on the App, it is almost unreadable, slow and cumbersome to load and navigate. Save the frustration. I would recommend paying a bit more for the paper edition.

Interesting content, terrible app

This app is like a bad brochure-ware site. Constant authentication issues, no sharing capability, and ads so bad they’re funny. Too bad, because lots of the content is quite interesting.

I love this magazine!

I’ve been a National Geographic: History fan for a while, but I hate the direction that company going. Don’t get bought out, please

On another note, I bought the app subscription since I am Canadian, and the paper option offers no savings for me. I love the app, though. I am making lots of notes on my iPad. I love the articles about Pompeii and Mesoamerican sculptures.

Request: Please offer a highlight option on the app. It would make finding important info easier. Thank you!

Simply doesn’t work

Multiple times I have tried to open issues of the magazine, but it does not work. Pages do not show up. I rarely give a bad review, but this app does not work.

Gorgeous app, clickable table of contents, just what I wanted. :)

App is broken

Installed the update and unable to read magazine on my iPad running iOS 12.1.3

Not Really Free

Supposedly a free app; but, if you want to read anything, you have to pay for it. The (mobile friendly) website contains free content. So should the app. I have deleted the app.
